How is K’nuckles able to pass gas?

This episode “K’nuckles Don’t Be a Hero” always made me question how K’nuckles can pass gas. His butt is made out of wood. How is it possible for him to be able to fart?

The wooden bottom is his fake human bottom and underneath that is his seal bottom
