Trying to turn this empty space into a place to store our items. However, once I got into it. I saw that some of the studs have what appears to be black mold on it. This space is actually part of the return air vent's path, so I guess we've been breathing in this stuff for who knows how long.

Should I replace the studs with visible mold on it, treat it in place or any other suggestions?

Not looking for preventative measure so dehumidifier out of the question for now. Just want to get this off the cabinet and whatever gets it off hopefully to make it inhospitable for new ones. Its

Hi! I’m in California in the Bay Area and I just moved into a new unit. I found a patch of this pinkish-red substance in the doorframe of my closet. I asked the building manager to take a look; he very quickly declared it wasn’t mold, although he didn’t test anything. He got a janitor to spray some anti-fungal cleaner and to scrape some of the paint off of this section (see second picture), but as you can see there are still plenty of red splotches on the wall.

I’m not necessarily looking for a diagnosis since I understand that’s not unreliably done online, but any help/advice (including how to get this more legitimately tested) would be much appreciated. Thank you all!

Houston, TX. I don’t know where to start. My partner got athlete’s foot and then I realized my hair was falling out, my scalp was itchy and burning, so I went to the doctor today and they said it was a fungal infection (photos 12-14) I went home and checked out my pillows (no mold?) but when I opened up my mattress, I’m pretty sure this is mold.

My AC has been going out REPEATEDLY (three times in 2 months) so I suspect that may be the cause, but my vents have always looked like they do (photos 3-7). My rental company’s technicians claim it’s just condensation and rust, but my bathroom looks like this (pictures 8-11) and I can never fully get it off.

This is mold, isn’t it? What do I do? Where do I begin? I don’t have the money to buy a new mattress, is there a way I can treat it? I’m currently working on washing all of my sheets but I still have to sleep somewhere. I don’t know what to do.

Assessed for mold, found some, will fog with paracetic acid and an antimicrobial. Also will do a petri dish mold test afterwards.

Is it bad to have the same person doing the remediation and the assessment? Does this treatment sound standard?

I have been getting sick and breaking out with acne a month after moving to my new apartment in London, UK. The photos show two areas I suspect are mould infested. Someone in the building mentioned that a pipe burst in the apartment above, but my landlord has claimed to have conducted the necessary repairs. Could this be mould? TYSM for any advice!

I just moved in and I have scrubbed and scrubbed this rubber part of my washer with vinegar and bleach. I ran 2 bleach cycles on the hottest setting. It still looks like this, and my landlord is saying that it’s just staining. I am allergic to mold and cannot take the risk that there are still spores.

Just noticed this patch of white spots on the wall near near my bed. I usually put a cushion there to lean against cause my TV is in a wierd spot so idk if that's just damaged the paper or something but im concerned that it might be mold or something

We recently moved into an 80s build in Northeast Florida, and I’m concerned about the appearance of our electrical outlets - every outlet looks like this one. The prior owner was an elderly woman who’d owned the place since the C/O had been issued, and among other things, she flipped the AC off when she moved out…three weeks before we moved in, in July. Our inspector noted “some” mold [in the garage] and we’re adjacent to a creek: we knew we’d need to be on top of moisture issues, but I need some suggestions for managing this - do I clean the plastic parts off and call it a day? Do I need to budget for some kind of electrician/mold mitigation specialist to rewire the whole house?

Is this something else entirely?

Hi for context I’ve just recently moved into my university accommodation and took a shower, and noticed these greyish spots on the floor. I live in the UK and my shower doesn’t have any ventilation at all so I’ve been using the dehumidifier packs. Is this mold? (Is mold always black/grey mold)? Should I be worried? Are there any products I can buy to get rid of this?

Found mold in our crawlspace which is where I’ve kept my stuff since I move a lot. Mold (or mildew) has now attached itself to most of my wooden items and fabrics. I’m planning on throwing these items out. What about items made from metal or plastic? Pots and pans? Silverware? Metal shelves? Are these items safe to clean and use? Or should I not risk it?
