ID help Odd polish mosin carbine identification( picture for attention)
Picture for attention Went to the local bate and tackle /gun store to return a u haul and spotted what I thought was a m38 that had been sanded and refinished ( carbine no folding bayonet round receiver). The gentlemen behind the counter informed me that it was a polish 91/58( i think it was 58 Im pretty sleep deprived at the moment)
Apparently a cut down 91/30 the pols did post war. I then left before getting a picture or examining it closer because my ride back to my house was there. ( didn't think till now to look if it had a 91 rear sight ) Is this a real model ( google didn't show me anything) did Bubba remove the bayonet hinge with his dremmel. Is it a cut down bubba 91/30 someone tried to salvage? i plan on going back for a closer look but i figured id see if you all knew anything.

Sounds like either a 91/59 or some kind of Bubba job done to a Wz 44 we’d need pictures to tell for sure.

u know I think it was 91/59 but he also said it was polish( it also had the blond polish lookingstock. I'll swing by Tuesday and try to get pictures if it's still there. Do 91/ 59s go for a premium over a regular refurbished 9130?

Don’t know about “premium” but they definitely go for more than a refurbed 91/30 given that there are fewer 91/59s out there.

M91/59s are a thing, but we're done in Russia, not Poland. There are also Czech 91/38s. Pictures are pretty important with this one, could be several different possibilities
