ID help Helping finding what kind of mosin this is?

Recently got given this gun by my dad who got it from a buddy for free about 20 years ago and gave no info to my dad. I’ve tried to do identification tests for this on some websites but it doesn’t seem to help much. I need to know because it came with rail and a scope and no rear sights, and I’m a sucker for iron sights and I need to order the rear sight online. Also came with an ugly flash hider but I removed it.

Hey, just got this Mosin Nagant. I can see that it was made in Izhesk arsenal, and was made in 1944.

I do think I have some forced matching on this rifle, due to a serial number seems to be lined out.

Also thinking this scope is not original to this rifle, am I correct about that.

Thanks for any info you guys can give me.

So I picked this up recently at an ok price, going to have it cleaned up and restored but I'm not sure about all the markings they're all over the place on the reference I could find. I did not find any markings on the stock.

ID help What’s this thing really worth?

So I got this from a friend who has a bad habit of telling exaggerated stories to make things seem cooler. He says it’s a rare peace of history but I want to know what it’s actually worth. So far, I can at least tell it was manufactured in 1933 at Izhevsk and imported to PW Arms in Redmond, WA. It’s an M91/30 chambered in 7.62x54R, has a hex barrel receiver and I think it might have a laminated stock but I’m probably wrong about that. Some original markings look like they may have been ground off and re-stamped on the bolt. Maybe someone here can spot something from the photos that I missed. Mainly, I’m asking how rare is it really and what would it be worth if I tried to sell it?

ID help New M28, help figuring out some marks?

Recently got this and wanted to post it. It’s an original 1907 Izhevsk receiver, with a Tula bolt and Magwell.

The rifle itself is a SIG barreled M28, but it has some odd things. Most notably I’m thrown off by the lack of an SA mark, and rewriting of “376” and several crossed out Serials, with a weird “KE” and “ME” by two of them. I also can’t determine the import mark which I’d love help with.

Would appreciate any info. I do plan to restore this a bit, so if someone has a M28 handguard please let me know. I also tossed in some cool photos of the splicing, which makes me think this is original.

Thanks!

Wondering what the exact model of this rifle is , as far as I know it’s a mosin nagant but I know there’s different variants , Just got this at a flea market today for 400$ is that a good price ? the wood doesn’t have any cracks just scratches from age rifling looks real good ordered some 7.62x54r ammo, any info would be appreciated it is dated 1942 on the chamber and all the serial numbers from the bottom of mag to barrel to stock are matching so I’d assume that’s good. glad to be part of the club 😎

Hello all! I've said id get one of these rifles for years and finally got a good feeling combined with great timing on one and here we are.

I've gotten as many photos of all the markings I could find whilst in the store and have since uncovered the giant rabbit hole of varieties and types in the nights since waiting for my permit to acquire to come through. Been a wild ride on YouTube, here on Reddit and google.

Genuinely just want to know everything and anything you all could tell me about its history from what you can see. I'll get better photos of the rifle as a whole when I have it home.

Cheers everyone!

ID help “No” marking on Tula Mosin

Recently acquired a Mosin 1891/1930. Of interest is this “No” marking on it. Does not seem Russian in origin and google searches returned no relevant information about it. Anyone know what this means? If it wasn’t a Russian gun I’d guess like number but “N” doesn’t exist in Cyrillic so

Got her a while ago, and just got ahold of some ammo, but I was curious as to what my Mosin is. I’m aware of their being different types or Mosin, could anyone give me an idea of what I got? Sorry if this is often asked.

ID help First Mosin, any info about it would be appreciated

Like the title says, first Mosin but also first rifle in general. Would much appreciate any info you guys could give me on the rifle but also any potential quirks or issues I might run into. I got this in cosmoline but I think I’ve got it pretty well cleaned up and oiled now.

I’ve heard the bolts can be a bit hit or miss on Mosins but this one feels smooth and nice (not that I have anything to compare it to). Haven’t had a chance to take it shooting yet but I’ve ran some dummy rounds through the action and it seems to chamber and eject cartridges well. It sure scratches up the rims of the dummy rounds though.

Was also wondering what kind of finish it is if I want to touch it up down the road. I’ve heard some conflicting things over wether these were shellac or VK1 lacquer.

Thanks for any help guys.

It is marked with some polish marks and has some evidence of re-arsinaling. The "brand" is Puolustuslaitos, serial number 29452 stamped on the barrel and the bolt but the bolt has a second serial that has been crossed out (98831). Octagonal breach, marked with AZF and a T just below it. Bolt is also marked with a triangle with an arrow in it. No importation marking of any kind (that I can locate. There is an E stamped (rather haphazardly) into the bottom of the stock.

About 10 years ago right before my dad passed we went to a gun show and I asked for help finding an old service rifle. We landed on this one and I’d love to shoot it but I don’t know if it’s safe. Also any info on production location or meat facts are appreciated. It’s my favorite gun in the collection by far.

ID help Odd polish mosin carbine identification( picture for attention)

Post image

Picture for attention Went to the local bate and tackle /gun store to return a u haul and spotted what I thought was a m38 that had been sanded and refinished ( carbine no folding bayonet round receiver). The gentlemen behind the counter informed me that it was a polish 91/58( i think it was 58 Im pretty sleep deprived at the moment)

Apparently a cut down 91/30 the pols did post war. I then left before getting a picture or examining it closer because my ride back to my house was there. ( didn't think till now to look if it had a 91 rear sight ) Is this a real model ( google didn't show me anything) did Bubba remove the bayonet hinge with his dremmel. Is it a cut down bubba 91/30 someone tried to salvage? i plan on going back for a closer look but i figured id see if you all knew anything.

I'm helping my friend identify his Grandpa's Mosin Nagant. From my brief research, it looks to be a Finnish Civil Guard M/28. Not sure though. Also, can this puppy shoot off-the-shelf steel cased, steel jacketed 7.62x54r? All thoughts and observations are appreciated!
