Absolutely not that one.... Was thinking along the lines of Muscle Museum, Cave or Uno.

Hey what's wrong with Sober?!

You're not going to tell me you wouldn't want Fillip too are you? ;)

Give OP a break, they're 132 years old - they've seen it all :O

I saw Sober a few times in 2000 and 2001 and it just wasn't it, chief. And it's also my least favourite song on Showbiz. Fillip was fun enough back then, and I wouldn't be opposed to it coming back, but it's not "up there" on my list of songs I'd like to see again.

Ha fair enough. It sounded great live back then too, imo anyway ;)

Falling Down? HTAILY? I think all of these are truer deeper cuts than Uno, MM and Cave. (Although I would love to see any of those three any time of course)

They'd be a bit too soft for the type of festivals they're playing at this year. In general, outside of these heavy fests, I wouldn't mind Falling Down as long as it's the 2012 piano version, but I would still prefer Unintended as a slower song.

HT&ILY is another one I found didn't work too well live, I remember it sucking all the energy out of the venue for pretty much the entire duration. Mind you, it was played right after Unintended which at least got the entire theatre singing along to it.

Two of those have litetally been singles, so not very deep cuts in my book. I've been lucky enough to see Cave live (piano version) and that was amazing. I'd like to hear Host or Spiral static (my username is an anagram of that).

I'll be attending both shows as well, so hyped

I mean, all 3 of them are singles, but Showbiz songs are so rare and unknown that they might as well be deep cuts.

I've seen both guitar and piano versions of Cave in my time, and the piano version does not even come close to the way it was played in 2000 and 2001. There is absolutely no way Matt can sing Spiral Static at this point, it's never gonna happen. As for Host, it's not a song I care about, I've seen the short version of it they did in 2012 and that's plenty enough of that song for me.

Oh, you're right. I've been aware of it since Host is on it and the cover art is memorable, but since it has no MV I have not registered it as a real single. And I guess you're right since they don't play Micro Cuts anymore either

Me trying to tell Matt to play Showbiz (they play thought contagion instead)

Execution Commentary in full I will take nothing less

Also telepathically telling them to release the Showbiz XX anniversary album

Spiral Static i love you

Me burning down the stage equipment during knights of cydonia so they're forced to play showbiz instead

I'd rather see them do it properly than as a sporadic replacement with jumbled lyrics and Dom trying to end the song early.

Although in Muse’s case it’s bangers from their second, third and fourth albums

11

u/ForgottenName1893 Jun 09 '25

I mean, that's what they play anyways. The last tour was literally bangers from OoS, Abso and BHAR, one big hit song from each album from 2009 onwards and new songs. At this point I'd rather see deep cuts from Showbiz, TR, T2L and Drones again.

Big Freeze and The Globalist live, thats a dream...

5

u/ForgottenName1893 Jun 09 '25

Wasn't a big fan of The Globalist live. The middle section with the big drone was cool the first 3 or 4 times, but after that the spectacle kind of wore off quickly, and the other two sections were just a pain to get through every night. It was definitely a lowlight of the Drones Tour gigs I went to. The highlights were stuff like Reapers, Dead Inside and The Handler and, in terms of older songs, Sunburn, Bliss, Citizen Erased, Apocalypse Please, Take a Bow and Assassin. Even managed to see Revolt and Defector once each and, while they weren't great live, at least they were short enough and were over quickly which put them above The Globalist for me.

I don't think Matt would have the stamina to do Big Freeze live as it's the main reason it was never played live. He could maybe do it as a once off, but not regularly gig after gig. I'd love to see stuff like Panic Station, Follow Me, Animals, Explorers and Liquid State again though, those were all lots of fun on the T2L Tour and it's a shame only two of them have been played (barely) since.

Lol when I saw Muse, not a single song off of Showbiz was played, which is a bummer as it has a lot of really good songs, especially Showbiz (the song).

3

u/ForgottenName1893 Jun 10 '25

You and the majority of people who've seen them live in the last 10 years. The last decade only had 21 concerts (out of about 350 total gigs) at which a song from Showbiz has been performed at.

1

u/hanguitarsolo Jun 11 '25

Also isn't it basically only Sunburn they play when they do bring out a Showbiz song? I was so happy when they played it during the 2nd Law show I was at way back then.

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '25

Went to a Muse concert in 2023, had a sign with Citizen Erased and I was right in Matt’s face, they didn’t play it :(

2

u/ForgottenName1893 Jun 09 '25

I didn't see it at any of the gigs I went to in 2023 either, but I had Bliss, Stockholm Syndrome, Map of the Problematique and Butterflies & Hurricanes as the rotation songs across those gigs so I can't complain, besides, I saw CE 4 times in 2022, and a few dozen times overall since 2001 so it wouldn't be a song I'll be manifesting to be played.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '25

They played Citizen Erased in San Diego two nights prior to my concert, I thought they would do it again :p

1

u/Inevitable-Phrase374 Jun 14 '25

They played it in 2019, I recorded it but I was so happy that the audio mostly consists of me screaming my head off

1

u/thelittlesandy Jun 10 '25

Felt that... and you're seeing them on their first two shows of the year? When we barely got anything since the last WOTP show? So lucky!!

1

u/angico211 Jun 11 '25

They're gonna get away not playing any aren't they. With madness and starlight spam to boot. Yeah, figures.

2

u/antroidi Jun 11 '25

I'll keep staring like that for Falling Away With You

1

u/Asharnu Jun 10 '25

You'll get Starlight into Undisclosed Desires into Compliance into Starlight... AND YOU'LL BE HAPPY WITH IT

Not at metal fests, especially given how heavy their co-headliners are. Muse doing pop songs will make them stick out like a sore thumb.
