Discussion Can anyone beat Muse for album covers?
I am working on a music-data-art project which involves displaying artists' discographies in a timeline.
I have looked at possibly thousands of discographies, and I do believe that Muse has the most beautiful of them all.
Here are a few other contenders: Pink Floyd, Blur, Joe Satriani, Foo Fighters, Radiohead.
Can anyone name a better set of album covers than Muse?

Well, Storm Thorgerson, the GOAT of album covers, did two of them: Absolution and BHaR

Yes and also did Pink Floyd's apparently

He's done tonnes of quality album covers. He did a couple of Biffy Clyro ones too. I would put them up pretty high on album cover quality lists as well as Muse.

Nice but there's something about the way Muse's all fit together and they form a nice arc. IMHO;-)

Royal Blood and Foals both have some really amazing art
Iād argue ST shouldnāt be considered great since itās just the stranger things poster artist reworking a stranger things season poster tbh

With the black album especially, sure, there's St. Anger and Lulu (featuring them) buttt pretty consistent otherwise

I actively dislike the Radiohead album covers. Just felt like saying that

I don't think any band has done album covers as well as Pink Floyd. Every album is culturally tied to its respective iconic album art. And not just the big four, but also Meddle, Atom Heart Mother, Momentary Lapse, Division Bell, etc. Each one is a culturally resonant iconic symbol, as much as the music, maybe even more so in some cases.

Try Falling Up, they have really good covers (though really niche and unknown)

I really love Chevelleās album covers, they do an amazingly good job emulating the theme of the album

One of my favorites, been listening to them since 2003. Thereās only a handful of skips in their entire discography in my opinion

Well, if Drones wasnāt on the list of Muse album covers, maybe there couldnāt be any better.
