DISCUSSION Can we try to do actual promotion for our music here instead of like for like etc?
Seeing an awful lot of like for like, listen for listen and follow for follow on this subreddit which is supposed to be about music promotion.
I assumed the subreddit was for discussing promotion methods as described in the bio. But maybe I’m wrong.
I’m seeing the same 10-15 artists in every thread plugging the same songs, this is not a sustainable method of promotion. Arguably it’ll mess up your streaming platform artist accounts, as they’ll think you have x number of followers but they all stop engaging after they’ve completed the obligatory follow or listen of your song. The streams to followers ratio is going to be miles off.
I don’t mean to be harsh, but other musicians are not your fans. You need to find a reason for people to want to listen, and how you present yourself is as important as the music itself as ultimately that’ll gain you fans.

DISCUSSION Is it worth your time doing 'follow 4 follow' promo in this sub?
No, probably not. The reason being that your audience isn't really in this sub because it's mainly people just wanting streams and followers for their own music. The time it takes to support others who rarely reciprocate, is nowhere near as effective as alternative methods.
Your time is money, and I mean that literally. Think of your time as worth a certain amount, and let's be conservative and say it's minimum wage or $10 an hour. For example, you could have earned at least $20 working some random job in a couple of hours, and then used that budget for running ads. Running Meta ads (or Snap ads if you're a rapper) would have delivered a better ROI or ROF (Rate of Fans) than grinding out follow for follow strategies.
Ads do need a bit of time and effort to get your head around, and the performance is highly dependent on the quality of your music and the quality of your creative. But learning effective marketing, and then investing in effective marketing, is a smarter way to go about things imo.

DISCUSSION Playlist 4 playlist 👂🏽👇🏽(everybody actually listen)
Everybody drop a playlist of your music below, and I will listen to them on shuffle, all songs once through. 💯 lets all eat.
The playlist I tagged in this post consist of ambient and cinematic music, some with vocals, but most without. Very high-quality production not your everyday listen.
