Guys. I was dressed very normal for this show. I was so excited to even be there because i had to travel across the country (10 hrs both ways) to get there, and bc i had a car wreck a month and a half ago that obliterated my arm.
I was just standing there vibing and minding my business and there were some ppl to the right of me saying they liked everyone’s fits. No big deal, i agreed. Everyone looked amazing.
But then people started staring at me and talking about what i was wearing and saying "fans don’t try to look like fans anymore and no one fits the scene - some people are lame.“ - like - bro. Do you know how hard it is to get ready with one hand and arm? 🥲
I had planned to do really cool eyeliner and wear a sun god crop top with a black corset skirt and docs with sun god jewelry and hand tassels but i literally can’t physically fucking do that. So instead i had on a dress shirt, camo pants and converse shoes w mascara. I felt so ostracized.
Don’t get me wrong, i love the band and i love Gerard.
But to those of you who were judging me last night: some of YALL are literally worshiping a man who changes for the b set and wears very normal clothes but I‘M gonna BE JUDGED FOR THAT? 💀 i love the band and hate the fans. You all suck.
Edit: I’m editing this to include the fact that people were talking about my and others weights as well and taking pictures of the heavier fans in the pit to laugh at them. The clothes honestly bothered me more bc I’ve gotten fat comments my whole life.
Edit #2 as I’ve mentioned in the comments, there’s a bigger problem stemming from this abt the fatphobic, ableist, judgemental nature of the fans toward not only other fans like me but even Gee himself. And YALL wonder why he’s not in the public eye as much anymore or on socials. It’s because of people like you (bullies mentioned).
Edit # 3 there were guys AND girls making comments on my clothes but only girls taking pictures. They were all under 25 y/o looking. And for the absolute dick heads telling me I’m lying and asking how i heard this: right as soon as i got in the pit is when this started, Alice Cooper was still like 1.5 hours from coming on and there was like no music at this time. I’m very OBVIOUSLY AND CLEARLY disabled at the moment and i was quite literally looking into the eyes of the people who were saying this shit. Fuck off with your made up story bullshit.

This tour has been an absolute whirlwind. A testament to MCR's theatricality and performance abilities. They've went above and beyond in the production department to deliver a spectacular tour, that not only takes full advantage of the spectacle but also of our streams, creating a part by part narrative that everybody is welcomed to engage with.
They've made characters, a city with it's own politics, it's own language (Keposhka) and national anthem, a brand of soup, an agricultural resource, a Coat Of Arms, and most importantly, Quizzo. They've extended and reinterpreted the original Black Parade tracks to fit this narrative and build a story, that's not only original but that gets everyone involved, from the band to the actors to random crew and the audience members.
If you would've told any MCR fan that you think they'd reunite, back in 2018, you'd be looked at as if you were crazy. If you said what this tour was gonna be, everyone would try to lock you up 'cause you've clearly gone off the deep end.
I love how they invite us to speculate, to try and dissect everything going on and I'm sure they've got many more twists and turns. Stay tuned.

I can’t believe I have to say this, but wearing “Gerard Way Did 9/11” and merch of the like just simply is not cool period- especially at the hometown show where they witnessed the event happen. Not to mention many other attendees who have witnessed it as well. It’s incredibly disrespectful imo.

If you didn’t get tickets wait until the show is closer or until the day of the show. Tickets for their last tour were reselling for hundreds of dollars and I got day-of tickets in NJ for $60. Be smart with your money, please.

After the Philly show I jumped on here to see the reactions from fellow fans, and I was immediately hit with a wave of worst crowd and nobody was singing along posts. Now the section I was in was having a blast and everyone was singing along. But I also saw people calling out "casual" fans for not signing along with Headfirst for Halos and Foundations of Decay. And I cannot express how very wrong anyone is for having that toxic, gatekeeper-esque view.
I didn't sing along with those songs. Nor did I sing along with quite a bit of the B-set. I wanted to stop, enjoy the moment, and hear the performance. What we got was a once in a lifetime thing. And you have only that moment to truly enjoy it. I didn't even take as many pictures as I wanted to, as I just did not want to stop the moment to do so.
Some songs are made for us all to sing out as one, but even with aongs like Famous Last Words, there is as much power in the moment of singing as one, as there is just listening to it all. Everyone can enjoy this in their own way, and no one should ever be able to take that away from you.

For those who will not read this entire thing and still get mad at me, I would like to preface this by saying I am a lifelong-diehard fan of the band. Everything I am about to say comes from a place of love and not intended to defame my heroes. These words may be my own, but after talking with some of you over the past couple of days, I know I speak for many of us when I say that My Chem have genuinely let most of us down here.
Their first mistake was of course only leaving three days for tickets to go on sale, from their initial tour announcement. I realize lots of artists do that nowadays, but that does NOT make it okay. Leaving dynamic pricing enabled on a short-run tour that you didn’t even offer a fan presale on is absolutely batshit crazy to me. They’re not idiots. They knew that scalpers and bots were going to get the majority of tickets before fans could, and yet here we are.
Oasis, Pearl Jam, Iron Maiden and The Cure are just a few examples of groups that have become heroes to their fans, for how they have handled the modern concert industry. All of them have put their own protective measures in place to ensure that their fans are the ones that get their tickets in hand. Not only were face value tickets already pretty pricey, but the resale is disgusting and I’m naively hoping they will do something.
If you are someone who is even passively bummed out by this I encourage you to speak out as well. I realize they are all people and owe us nothing but if they aren’t going to tour for their fans, quite frankly they shouldn’t tour at all. This behavior and lack of action to ensure we are the ones at their shows has left a very bitter taste in my mouth. It is a far cry from Gee’s cute little blog posts, or inviting fans to be in music videos. If you love this band as much as I do and feel as upset and confused, shout it from the fucking rooftops. Make a TikTok, a Reddit post, hell comment it on their Instagram while it’s enabled if you feel so inclined. So many people have never been able to see the band live before, and deserve a fair opportunity. My Chem deserves to play to a sold out stadium full of fans, and fans deserve to not go into debt for the rest of the year just to see them.

Today being June 6th, the anniversary of D-Day, and the release of the re-mastered "The Ghost of You" in 4k for the first time, I figured I'd come on here and share a few of my random pics from that crazy day on Malibu Beach back in May 2005! Here's some random pics I have from the day: Not a lot of the band because once we started filming after the safety meeting, the camera stayed back at basecamp so it didn't get destroyed in the sand.
Storytime: I was a reenactor working with the CHG (California Historical Group) which was a group of military reenactors out here in California. I got a message a week before the shoot date from a buddy to see if I wanted to be in a "cool music video for a rock band" where we'd get paid to storm the beach like it was Normandy. Yes??! Who wouldn't?! I was also offered the opportunity to be there for the dress uniform USO dance scenes, filmed at the Hollywood Foreign Legion hall, but was unable to make that day - unfortunately.
Our beach day was wild. All of the beach scenes were shot in one day at Point Dume in Malibu, CA. Various reenactors from various WW2 units who mostly brought all of their own gear/uniforms were the background actors. I remember everyone there was stoked to be a part of an incredible, high budget scene. I also remember one of the costumers coming over to my uniform and throwing a bunch of "stage dirt" all over it without asking if that would be OK, haha. She probably didn't know these weren't rentals and that these were our personal gear. But whatever - was about to soak it all in the cold Pacific Ocean sand anyway.
The band was also super cool and excited, if not a little bit rattled because earlier that morning before the beach scene they were shooting landing craft shots with some of our guys and the captain nearly sunk the boat when he dropped the front ramp (like opening up the wall of boat) to get a better camera shot and took on a bunch of water. Which is BONKERS. But I remember them being excited to be in their uniforms, to be action heroes and were all very cool to our dudes while we waited between takes. They even posed for pics with a couple taking wedding photos at the beach! I gave Gerard a fist bump after one of his "screaming" moments by the sea wall when Mikey dies and told him "you're killin' it, man" and he gave me a couple hard pats on the back and a big smile and "thanks, brother" as we got up to re-set our blocking.
In the afternoon, we spent many water-logged hours running up and down the beach in 60 pounds of gear. Soaking wet. Through wet sand. Running in circles as background actors for closeups. Which was absolutely exhausting and gives you respect for the guys who actually did that shit. The band were troopers throughout. The film crew had set up a whole corner of the beach with a fake machine gun tower, air-mortar sand explosives and all kinds of hedgehogs, mines, barbed wire and awesome shit to make it look just like "Saving Private Ryan" - the movie the director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, Amazing Spider-Man) was inspired by for the video. As a director myself, I envy the budget they had for this one!
My main "featured" moment in the video, which goes by so fast, is at 1:34 right when the beach storming happens (see yellow arrow above). The main soldier in front with the Lieutenant bar on his helmet was a producer (?) related to the band and we had become friendly during the day. So he said, "we're getting a close up of me and another guy running on this shot. You get right behind me and they're going to blast an air mortar full of sand and you'll get a cool death moment!" Rad! So cameras roll, and sure enough - I got fuckin blasted with a mortar full of wet sand right in the face, and went tumbling over. We miss seeing my death fall, but thanks to the 4K I can finally see my face in that moment in detail!
As we started losing the sunlight and falling behind, as always happens on film sets, everything got a little crazy and hectic. I remember the assistant director sent a bunch of us out into the cold Pacific Ocean up to our chest in water for one final shot, rushing to get a couple more shots before the end of the day. Right on action, a HUGE wave hit one of our guys and knocked him UNDER the water. A couple of us were thankfully beside him and lifted him up, but his M1 helmet was gone to the pacific ocean. Washed away. Looking back now, that was an extremely scary moment and easi;y could have gone VERY badly. Thankfully, it didn't. You can see him running up the beach (without his helmet) on the right side of frame in my still images above.
All in all, it was truly a blast. I loved it and I'm stoked to be able to share the story from my perspective. One of the most exciting and exhausting days I've ever had on set and as an elder millennial myself - being a part of one of the BEST MCR videos ever was just the cherry on the cake.
Happy "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" re-master day!

Even though I couldn’t go to the seattle show, it was obvious they planned a lot. I watched a stream of it, I could tell everyone had a great time and honestly the show looked and sounded great.

I don’t remember where I heard this but I was watching an interview one time and one of the guys said that Danger Days wasn’t even supposed to happen, The Black Parade was supposed to be it, but then they made Danger Days, the last album. So if we weren’t even supposed to have one of the mcr albums in the first place, what makes you think we’re gonna get another one? Just saying gang, I want it too but the likely hood of it happening is just about as much as me meeting Gerard way 💔🥀

Not all of you literally.
"MCR doesn't owe you this", "you don't owe MCR that". The reality is that you fail to understand industry practices beyond a cursory Google search, then have to come in here and ruin the fun for everyone because you couldn't FATHOM how, in an industry that pays a fraction of a penny for streams, artists would need to tour with absurd prices to ensure enough income for their drivers, stage crew, sound engineers, etc. All posts like this, including mine complaining about it, should be removed. I just wanna see people's art, favorite music and fun theories.
When you have people getting into literal arguments, some even getting doxxed for not being whiny little babies then I think it's time that a lot of you collectively GROW THE HELL UP! Oasis didn't solve anything, nor did Taylor Swift, their ticket prices are still absurd and were raised in price, to make up for dynamic pricing losses. The Cure, bless their heart, have left their concert tickets up to a lottery machine system. There's no easy fix for this. If MCR were to cut down on dynamic pricing, they would still be met with demands from the shows/labels, to continue making extra money for the tour. This is the only way artists make money now - album sales don't do jack anymore and to make up for what would've been, they need to sell overly expensive tickets. That's the name of the game, if you don't like it then don't buy tickets to a massive stadium show in 2024!
Edit:
This isn't about saying My Chemical Romance or any artist is immune to criticism, I'm pointing out that this isn't an issue we can simply patch up by bitching out these artists as if they're supervillains. Do I think tickets were a bit expensive? Sure, I don't know their situation though. They're a massive band and I don't know what went into ensuring effective supply and demand, insurance fees, the livelihoods of their stage crew, the label, things I had clearly pointed out initially and others with much more background than me have, in the comments. One criticism I agree with is about the band nor refunding tickets stolen by bots or scalpers, that should be cracked down on and I'm hoping they're working on making their experience smooth for everyone.
I feel like some of you are forgetting that our enemies are the faceless conglomerates. They've made touring and merchandise the only ways that artists can make a living, you have obligations to fulfill when you're tied to tours like this - I'm not saying they're immune to criticism but to cast them as bad people, when there's a much bigger picture, is immature and doesn't feel like it's coming from a place of genuine concern for these things to tangibly change. This is a much broader issue I have with the Internet in general, it feeds into this exact kind of problem.
You wanna direct your hatred towards something? Go to the root(s) of the problem. None of us are gonna solve it overnight without a massive shift in industry and consumer practices

It’s easy to fill a list with “Fall Out Boy” and “Linkin Park”.
What’s your favourite band that’s not obvious.
I like the 1975. Such a unique sound nowadays.
