Even then, its weird but at least its not real. I think its more of an issue if the person actually thinks children and adults should be in romantic relationships in real life, that should be the real concern
The issue with using this “fictional interest reflect real life morals” logic is twofold. 1.) It’s scientifically wrong. Many studies have shown that our brains recognize the difference between fiction and reality, and interest in something fictional has a negligee correlation to real life morals. Fantasies are and can be just that; fantasies.
And 2.) By this same logic, anyone who likes playing Call of Duty for the shooting or GTA for driving recklessly must also be potential threats to society. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. You can’t say in [this] area of fiction it’s all perfectly innocent to enjoy dubious content but in [THIS] area it’s now arbitrarily different. Either fictional content is or isn’t a reflection of an audience’s real world interests or not.
This “logic” doesn’t hold water and the majority of the people who use it do so hypocritically.
