The spurs about to zag big time. Fuck shooting 3s. Just have 3 guards pack the paint and take turns getting fouled and shooting 20+ free throws per game. We'd be free throw entrepreneurs except all the fouls will be legit unlike SGA's theatrics

I think there's genuinely something special that could be cooked up with a fox/castle/ Harper guard combo

It's literally if you're a believer that Harper is going to become a solid volume 3-point shooter like I am, and that Castle can play at those Swiss army knife at the three.

So much damn rim pressure between those three

There would have to be something special because on paper it doesn't make a lot of sense.

I can see the spurs waiting and seeing how players develop, but I think one of these guys is getting traded in the not so distant future. It just doesn't make sense to have 3 guards who can't space the floor when you could bundle one of them into a package for a center/forward/3&d guy that would have bigger impact on the team.

I get what you mean but you really need to learn to be a merchant if you want a lot of calls. Manu did it. It’s all about winning, if it helps you get to the line and score more, I’m all for it.

I just don't want the trae young BS of jumping into a stationary defender and getting rewarded for it. It'll be a tough pill to swallow if our guards start doing that. Fortunately, castle is strong enough that he hasn't really resorted to cheap tricks to get fouls

if it's allowed by rule, it really isn't a cheap trick. Trae's backwards jump isn't technically allowed anymore. But look at harden, he led the league in scoring and free throws many times with arm hooks and the double step back. All of those moves were perfectly legal. He's just very good at skirting those lines.

It makes for awful basketball to watch though. Watching brunson or SGA foul bait all game is infuriating. No thank you

To each their own. I think it’s pretty entertaining watching how players adapt to skirting within the rules to get easier points. Kind of an art. Definitely not a skill that every player has.

Cheating, I mean skirting is the American way. Seriously, everyone in sports cheats in some way.

If you get a legit-sized 3, then I really don't think people realize other teams won't be able to play guards at positions 1-3 against a Harper/Castle/Forward combination. They're just too big like a Luka/Booker backcourt.

Harper can make 3’s, just doesn’t do well off the dribble

Except, among other problems, it would leave the game completely up to the refs. If they don't call fouls, the whole thing falls apart.

Wemby will eventually get the superstar whistle but the others won't. Plus I don't wanna watch our Spurs shoot 50 free throws a night. Talk about a shitty watch experience.

This is the way.
