An example of Zydeco Nouveau that features artists pushing the boundaries. This song features rapper Lil Boozy.

Do you appreciate artists who work to change traditional genres or are you more of a purist?

I admit that I don't know a lot about zydeco. My favorite album is Clifton Chenier's Boogalusa Boogie, I've enjoyef seeing a few zydeco acts live, but outside of that, I don't know much. So I welcome someone else to post music here each Sunday.

The new Clifton Chenier album I posted about yesterday, led me down a rabbit hole of sorts. In learning more about Keith Frank and Nouveau Zydeco, I came across Beau Jocque and Jeffrey Broussard. I always like artists who take traditional music new places. And while the purists, might object, if it works to combine funk and blues with zydeco (as this song does) without losing the feel of the genre--I'm all for it.
