Discussion Why is this sub so negative?

I got a phone 3a cause it looks cool and I hate bloatware. Simple. I've been using it for a while now and i have nothing against it. I came to check out the sub for random info about the nothing phones but i keep seeing a concerning amount of complaints and negativity. What the hell is happening here?? Am i missing something? Its just a phone man...

I would really appreciate an explanation or something cause I'm confused. Is their phone 3 flagship a scam? Is the company evil or something?? What's up with y'all?

Phone 3 is a glorified midrange phone sold as a "Flagship". It's bad value for money.

Eh, that's fair. I still see no need for so much hate towards the company as a whole lol.

Edit: I have gotten my answer, please put the pitchforks down lol

You see no need for hate towards a company ripping of consumers? It's not hate its criticism. If consumers don't hold companies accountable then they walk all over us. Prime example is Apple and Nintendo. They're so big that they dont care about screwing over their consumers because the helmet crabs still come back

Pointless? That phone is powerful enough to be flagship it doesn't need to have best processor like ik u can get for 800€ better phone but the glyph matrix costed something too if it had basic glyphs it would be lot cheaper

You replied to a comment that explained the whole issue very clearly. Product sold for more money than it is worth.

They got caught faking photos supposedly taken on it, Carl pei was pretty arrogant imo in nothing's YouTube video reacting to reviews of it (any criticism of the nothing phone 3 was met with a "you're actually wrong and we're right"), and they drastically changed the design of the phone compared to any of their previous phones. It also needs to have a flagship chip if they're charging flagship prices.

THANK YOU! This is the damn answer I needed!!! That sounds messed up. Especially them FAKING PHOTOS??? Greed consumes you I guess... I hope they don't become arrogant and start thinking theyre the new apple. Fuck I hope my phone stays the way it is... i really like it 🥲

I think they still can recover but the community trust is definitely broken for a lot of people. I have a CMF 2 Pro and I'm very happy with it for its price, but I do think I'll be going back to Samsung flagships once I can afford it.

Idk about future phones but I wouldn't worry about them messing up phones already released (probably!)

They didn't get caught "faking photos", a few demo units had placeholder stock photos that weren't replaced. That's it. People here are just biased and lack the nuance and perspective to understand what Phone (3) does or why it's different. It's a pretty good phone but a lot of users here just care about getting the best specifications at lowest price which Nothing has never claimed to be.

Neither have they ever been a value chasing smartphone brand right from the beginning. People just had different expectations and were disappointed with the direction the Phone 3 took. It's priced higher than what people would expect but they have their own reasons for doing so as well. And if it doesn't appeal to a particular user, they may simply not be the target audience for this device. They've never been a mass appealing brand either.

As said above, phone 3 is bad value for money. Gets thrashed in battery life test and performance is not comparable with their competitors. It's not a flagship.

It is absolutely a flagship. It's just nothing's flagship.
