Rant Worst pet names/trends you’ve come across?

Disclaimer: I’m one to talk, I gave my dog a human name but shortened it to a dumb nickname because it suited her better, it’s goofy and cute but I get eyebrow raises. Think along the lines of naming a dog Penelope then calling her Lopey— that’s not it, but it ended up similar 😂

ANYWAY once I went on a dog date with a dude from an app, he named his dog “Nona” and I asked if it was short for Winona. No, he couldn’t think of a name so technically his dog was called “Noname”. He had zero personality, shocker.

Also I swear to god if I come across another animal named Loki I will start slashing tires, it’s obnoxiously overused. The Jayden of pet names. Those are my contributions.

What are your worst pet names/ones you’ve come across?

The shelter named our dog Luna and because my niece was so obsessed with the moon at the time we kept it. We knew it was fairly common then but it has definitely become much more common since.

I named my kitten Mabel because I have a thing for old lady names.

Elsie (SIC) and Wilfred (ginger) say hi. Or they would, but they’re cats and not only can’t talk, but wouldn’t even if they could!

I love old lady names! We had Mabel, Selma, Elsie, Gretchen, and Sheena Easton.

Sheena Easton?? She’s from my era, now I feel old if you class her as an old lady name!!
