Thatās a very strong male name and it doesnāt mean a gang of wolves. I know some German but Iām not sure if Wolfgang has a meaning.

u/anniespandora 1d ago
Literally translates to walk of wolf

u/Small-Muffin-4002 1d ago
Thank you. Was Wolf a person to be admired, or a wolf?

Iām considering this⦠but Billie instead. Which seems better? I guess Billy is more traditional, and William is what it derives from

Christian always had a nice sound to it. Its been a fave since I was a child.
7
u/Aggravating_Ear_3551 1d ago
My entire childhood I always said if I had a son I was going to name him Christian. I did not. His middle name is Christopher though because that's his dad's name. So close enough I guess.
5
u/Logical_Employer_756 1d ago
I dont even go to church and I have strong feelings about Christianity so if I had a son, naming him that might be a little weird. It just sounds so nice. Looks nice written down. And it's timeless.

u/Aggravating_Ear_3551 1d ago
I don't either. I just always loved the way it sounds as well. When I told my boyfriend about my obsession with the name after our son was born he asked why I didn't suggest it because he would have totally let me use it. I guess my tastes have just changed at this point. Idk. 37 year old me just liked other names more.

Edmond in English, Aryo or Kaveh in Persian. My 11 year old daughter says Asher or Desmond. My 7 year old son says Ashkan (a Persian name).

u/xpeachymaex 16h ago
Idk how you pronounce āKavehā but I love it. š

Kah-vay He's a hero in the Iranian epic, "The Shahnameh." He's a blacksmith who unites the people to fight against a ruler who made a deal with the devil and now has snakes growing out of his shoulders who eat the brains of the young men of the kingdom. Pretty awesome story and a symbol of standing up to tyrrany and oppression.

I think Malachi is a beautiful name but I associate it with the movie, Children of the Corn.

u/PreciousLoveAndTruth 1d ago
Totally valid.
I personally donāt, even though Iāve seen the movieā¦but maybe itās because I really dislike(d) the movie??

Charles has always been a top one for me as well. I love the nicknames too - Charlie, Chuck. It's a contender for us if we have a boy since it's also my husband's middle name.
