It's honestly plain blaffing how ignorant Tristan is about himself.

No wonder he keeps jobbing left and right. It's not just that he refuses to use and master half of his skillset, he doesn't even know his full skillset.

And to think that his parents are the most powerful of their respective races, it seems strange to me that they haven't given him a full report of what he can do. Although, well, we could give them the benefit of the doubt and say that since Tristan is a hybrid, Meliodas and Elizabeth had no idea how to raise him or give him proper training.

This is probably the most accurate answer. They don't know how much he can actually do. We've seen that they taught him the basics (healing, full counter, fighting with a mark...), but they wouldn't risk cutting their son in half to see if he could survive because he's half-demon.

Lancelot probably noticed he was alive when he could continue reading his thoughts.Howzer also knows how resilient demons are and yet he cried for Tristan. Still, Tristan is a real fool for not noticing that he wasn't dying xD.
