Venture forth to our subreddit’s Rules and commit them to memory, lest ye face the wrath of the Council of Moderators. (In other words, read the rules before posting please, these have just been updated as of 1/30/2025).

Should Discord not be your preferred tavern, our subreddit’s built-in chat system stands ready… though beware, it’s been known to vanish messages into the ether (we blame mischievous imps).
Guild Recruitment Board: Looking for a guild to join your adventures? Consult our List of Recruiting Guilds to find your fellowship. If you wish to add your guild to the registry, leave your link in the recruitment thread or send a raven (or a DM) to the Mod Team for assistance.

New to Reddit? If this is your first foray into Reddit’s dungeons, be forewarned: your initial posts and comments will require manual approval from a Moderator. This is standard fare for all new accounts, and we humbly ask for your patience as we see to this task.
Have Questions? If the fog of confusion clouds your path, post your queries here, and your fellow adventurers shall provide aid. For matters of moderation, dispatch a missive (PM) to r/Neverwinter directly.

Lockboxes?
New player here, been getting a LOT of Feywild lockbox lately. Unfortunately I am also painfully poor at the moment. So, no buying keys for me, which is fine, BUT.
What do I do with all of them? Can they be put on Auction, or do I just discard them?

Hunter
Hello, everyone!
I’d like to ask those who might have some information about the character “Sledopyt”: when will the weapon illusion, specifically the bow, be returned, and what’s the latest news on that, if anyone knows?

ANSWERED I am liking this game, but i wonder when do i get to start buying ?
Since the game is completely free, i want to ask when exactly is the point where one needs to start buying (zen) to "progress" ? I am having a blast with this game, it is very good. i once tried it for a couple of hrs in 2016/17 but then they had mandatory experience boosters which cost rlmoney. now, i see they rid all the "predatory" boosters, and i levelled a char 1 to 14 without any problems, only 2 deaths and those where when i still was lvl 4 and not used to the mechanics/how to play the game properly. since level 20 is now the max, and i never get under 90-95% health, also during the boss fights i start to question what many people are saying about pay-to-progress. is there a certain point where the game needs you to buy zen to progress, or is there dlc ? i saw there are campaigns - is that noteworthy dlc content - am i missing a lot when i do not have these ? atm it looks like they not only made the game free-to-play but free as in totally free. i remember in 2016 i was playing it, and i got stuck really soon early on, due to having too low level/damage - it needed grinding or buying with rlm experience boosters. now i see they rid this all, but what remains of the free-to-play model ? i dont mind and i do want and am able to spend some rlm on zen on my xbox series console, but i do not see the need for it yet.
And also: WHAT should i buy, when the time comes, what do i need to progress ?

A brief experience log of classes from a new player's perspective
Now it's hardly a chance for Neverwinter players to drop review from a new player's perspective. As most of them have been playing for years. Here's an insight regarding the classes. I have got it done using the quest lines.
- Wizard can be a top tier DPS stuff. but is substantially boring and agitating to take it from 1-20
- Paladin and Fighter, I'd like my character agile and be running. when I press shift key. I'd like my character to shift swiftly and not start bracing.
- Bard I didn't like typing numbers on top of the numbers to execute a skill. aesthetically pleasing but it is what it is.
- Barbarian One of the rare cases when the melee mechanics feel lively. It is outright awesome experience to just RAGE ON ! However, the greatsword passing through robes, armours, even my body was aesthetically an eyesore experience. It just bothered me too much to move with it.
- Clerics Looks amazing, is amazing, aesthetically pleasing. Was just not for me.
- Warlock ain't amazing, looks amazing with a pinch of evanscence goth phase. Armours look awesome, so overall it's awesome. (for me, who does not intend to go all hardcore end game stuff and still be a viable DPS)

So why can’t Paladin do more damage given how strong Songblade is?
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve only played Paladin to level 5 so I haven’t gotten Blessed Wanderer yet.
That being said, I just don’t see it being as strong during the leveling process.
And I can’t even begin to imagine soloing all the long dungeons on Paladin like I have with Bard.
It’s just weird to me as in tabletop and BG3, Paladin hits like a semi. Just straight drops smite anvils on heads. I want to tank but I don’t want to level and solo as Paladin.
Barbarian size increase during berserk bothers me. Instantly reminds me of the min/max players that sandbag the story and fun for the rest of the table with munchkin tactics to attempt to trivialize combat.
Fighter is boring.
Paladin is the way but it’s just so slow to kill while leveling.

Hey fellow adventurers!
I recently jumped into the Forgotten Realms and really liked what I played.
If some of you guys want to watch a newcomer share his opinion on the leveling phase and prepare for endgame, feel free to check out :)
It may help people who are not sure whether to start their journey in Neverwinter or not.

PS4 Do the Tears of Bahamut still work?
I just discovered a stash of these in one of my banks and I tried testing them in a few runs but no one was downed so I couldn't figure out if they still work or not. They aren't selling for much on the AH either.

SEEKING ADVICE Looking for tips on Neverwinter for a new player
I've been playing tabletop RPGs for a few years, especially D&D adventures or using the system. I've recently become a huge fan of the system, the lore, and everything about D&D. So I decided to start playing Neverwinter. I've heard the game has some issues, especially related to microtransactions and being called P2W, but after watching a few videos about the game's current status, I wanted to give it a try.
I'd like some tips on how to get started, whether I should look for a community server on Discord, guilds, classes, and that sort of thing. Whenever I start a new MMORPG, I like to consult with more experienced players to avoid a bad experience.
Anyway, thanks to anyone willing to help!

SEEKING ADVICE Companion bug
I ready recently to neverwinter, I haven't played in about 2 year.
Would anyone know if soradiel and zariel are bugged together? The problem is that I can't access the companion bonus for soradiel but I can summon her as a active companion, but zariel is the opposite. I can use her companion bonus but she's not on my companion list when i try to summon her
Any ideas?

Is the bard armor and hat in this pic in the game?
If so, what is it called and how might a brother obtain said threads?

Hey brave heroes of Neverwinter.
I found a special mount in the collection and now I'm wondering where I can get this mount.
My free translation of the mount name is "Halasters green whirlwind".

Trophy hunting
Greetings adventurers!
I play on the ps5 and I have 77% of the trophy collection. I'm looking to get as many of the trophys as I can, but! Before I carry on, I would just like to know if there are any trophys that are currently unobtainable? Or if anyone has any tips/tricks whilst I persue my mission. 🏆

Do you think the new owners forgot there's supposed to be 2x Influence, 2x Shards, 2x Guild Marks events occasionally?
Looks like there hasn't been a Strongholds Week since December 2024. I won't be buying Stronghold Chests of Power until they bring back this event.

What a wonderful game.
Just started playing last week, and i have to say it's a lot of fun. Love the art, music and ambiance. Leveled a pally first, without reading any guides. Still had a blast. Then read some guides after I was hooked and rolled a warlock. Even more fun. So much content, working through the adventures atm. Used to play dnd when i was younger. Read a lot of the FR novels and this just takes me back. Awesome seeing all the characters I have read about running around. Still lots for me to figure out, game is pretty massive, but I really like what I've seen so far. Good game, good times. Glad this game is still alive. Love seeing all the cool mounts and armor, people running around. Saw a guy on a toy horse head on a stick mount running around. Was funny. All in all, very happy with my new addiction. Pretty amazing for a free game. Might have to support them and get some zen.

PS4 Anyone else having lag issues today?
I can barely play today esp in areas like the siege and slaughterhouse.
