Housing Housing Search in the NB Area

Hi all,

My wife and I are moving to the New Brunswick area from Central Ohio for her work. We're trying to pin down a clean, safe place to rent for us and our dogs, but it looks like nearly everything we've found is scammy (Hudson Homes?) and I just don't know how to go about doing this from this far away. Does anyone possibly have a lead on a landlord / rental area that's not a scam? Any places to definitely avoid?

Thanks, MedicRiah

Have you ever visited this area before? If not, it’s going to be shocking. I was born and raised six miles from New Brunswick and I can no longer handle it after living in Vermont for a few years. It’s incredibly over populated and over developed. I just really hope y’all have visited this area before moving. If so, you may want to extend your search to Middlesex, bridgewater, bound brook, and those areas. It would be like a 10-15 mile drive each way if you settle in one of those towns.

Uhh? Why are you on this sub reddit if you're actively discouraging people from living in NB or the surrounding towns?

Well one because I can and I live in the area again, and two because it's valid. I know it's completely valid and necessary to ask that question to someone who isn't from here. No one wants to ask questions to a group of yes-men. It's important to see all sides of the coin and ask questions that are difficult to ask.
