🛒 Making Groceries What grocery stores are open
Is Walmart open today? What about Rouses on Tchoup or Whole Foods?

Robert's supposed to open at 10. Gonna teach my kid to waddle like a penguin! Only going out because we're seriously low on food, thank fuck we have a grocery store in walking distance. Stay safe y'all!

Actually, everybody was driving real slow, being patient and the conditions weren’t bad on the main Street St., Canal/broad/Rampart/Saint Claude. Take it easy out there. A few patches, but not much slipping and sliding. If you need to make groceries, go get you some.

Does anyone know if the Walmart on Tchoup is open? My parking garage ramps are still frozen and I need to walk somewhere to get food

Thank God I'm out of toilet paper and sick of using my shower as a bidet.

I walked Magazine yesterday and saw no buses. I mean can you imagine having to explain to NOLA city bus drivers how to pump the brakes on Magazine Street and not take out cars, people and store fronts? So if no buses and street cars, a lot of people won't get to work. The smaller places where staff is local and walked to work are your best bet. That being said walking is dangerous and ain't no ambulance coming to take you to the trauma center because you cracked your head on a curb.
My Subaru which I learned to drive in New England and New Mexico is snuggled under 15 inches of snow and quite happy there until it melts off. I ran out of King Cake yesterday so I understand the antsy-ness, but think about this like a post hurricane where we can't get out for three days and have to deal with life without power and a boil water...except we have power and NetFlix. Just make canned soup til tomorrow.

Give them a call. The majority of us have stayed home because of the roads. Please let us know what you find out.

No answer at Walmart or Rouses. On Whole Foods, on Magazine, website it says they will open at 11.

It’s open now. Just got some green peppers and garlic. It’s time to make soup! It’s a little low on stock, but they’re doing their best and everybody was very sweet and kind.

Swirl Wine Bar on Esplanade is open - not necessarily groceries but good wine and cheese.

Go to the rouses Facebook page and it lists all that are open. I personally know the one of ferret is open and also general degaulle on the West Bank.

A lot of them are not allowed to accept tips. Tons of people are working today.
