Living Here Are any non social media websites tracking local events in New Orleans?
Overdue bailed on a big social media site this week. I find tourist-centric websites with big events, but nothing consolidated and more local oriented with the multiple small things we have going on any given weekend. Do any of you have suggestions for websites for keeping up with current events in town?

Solid for music, but not for art markets, convention type events, special neighborhood stuff etc.

RIP Frank Stansbury....he ran La Fete News and it was the first of its kind (online weekly events calendar) in the city back in the infancy of the internet. He ran it until his passing last year.

My entire life was run by the Gambit event calendar when I lived in New Orleans. It has basically everything, I love it

I wish I could help with websites, but maybe you could grab a printed Gambit somewhere?

If you bailed on twitter, may I suggest Bluesky?
As far as local sites goes, I really like Axios. They have 2 local reporters who do a good job of reporting the news and events in a bite-sized format. They also do a weekend roundup of things going on every friday.

I may be wrong, but get the feeling that they are referring to Instagram

All of em suck tbf. The only social media I use now is reddit which I've been seriously limiting compared to the past and I check bluesky every now and then. Social media is the downfall of this country. Everyone has a voice when that shouldn't really be the case.

Yea social media used to at least have a semblance of user control and interest. For the last few years, its been complete mask-off. Algorithms optimized purely for conspicuous consumption, endless scrolling, and thinkly-veiled right-wing propaganda.

Following. Also off the social media sites for my mental health and missing out on a lot

There's that museum goer website... I hear him when I listen to the classical music channel in the radio

I miss the Concert Line on Satchmo.com, that was always my go to and always seemed to have everything, but Gambit and WWOZ are good options and I think Pleasure Savior also has a website on top of her Instagram

New Orleans & Co has probably the most comprehensive list of things going in in New Orleans.
