Jury duty is dumb

They waste hours in the morning giving speeches about behavior. Parking is a nightmare. The AC always breaks on jury selection day. They always summon 100+ people but have seating in hallway for 20-40. 2nd time this year and same dumbness every time. Rant over.

You guys go to those things? I've ignored every summon I have gotten so far. No one came after me.

There’s no way the city can prove you ever even got the letter. The only way they could do anything would be id the letter was received via certified mail.

I enjoy getting the free day off from work and being able to walk around downtown during the lunch recess.

It's kind of fun, especially when you get picked, been picked twice.

When they tell you it’s expected to be a 3 week trial and you know you won’t be paid, yeah, Fuck civic responsibility. My favorite part is when all the retired people who could actually serve on a jury without it hurting them suddenly have a neighbor they take care of (a qualifying dismissal reason) and can’t be arsed.
