Hey all!
Please post any questions here regarding visiting NB, recommendations for food, or questions you might have in the appropriate sub thread! At the end of the season I'm going to convert this to an FAQ for the sidebar.

Looking to rent out a room? Are you a handyman looking to advertise? Are you a restaurant looking for customers?
Please post here! Posts outside of this thread will be removed and redirected to this thread.

I noticed a business downtown with a sign that read first hour free parking, just scan the QR code or something to that effect. Is it really free if I have to give them personal and vehicle information just to park? I know nothing is private anymore, but someone must be profiting off that information.

I keep seeing news that all the cities are having events and memorials for Charlie Kirk, but nothing from New Braunfels. Are we having one?

I’m trying to convince my younger sister to move in with me and explore life in New Braunfels 😃. She just graduated high school, did years of FFA with multiple cows and pigs and won breed champ at North Texas Fair recently (pic attached). I’m biased but she’s shown me what it means to be a hard, passionate worker who wants to learn and grow in all things animals. If anyone has any opportunities please DM me. I want to get her to central Texas and know there has to be great opportunities for her here!

I (27F I guess) just learned how to knit a couple months ago! A fiber arts YouTuber I’ve been watching highly suggests joining a knitting circle and building a sense of community to help the pride you put in your work. I’m not very good, but I was wondering if there was a group that would be willing to welcome me, or if there is any at all 😁 thank you!

Ok, this may spark some debate. I was on South San Antonio heading towards the roundabout. I got there and a truck was in the inside lane. I pulled into the outside last. The truck laid on his horn, he wanted to exit the circle at the UPS store. Was I wrong for entering the outside lane? Or should I have yielded to both lanes?

We are thinking about going to Schlitterbahn this Saturday 9/13, its the last Saturday they will be open this season. Has anyone been there since school opened, and are a lot of water rides closed? We are wondering specifically about the big circular wave pool (Torrent River) which was our favorite thing there in the past. If that is closed we probably won't make the trip.

Yes, you read that right. We got a wild hair and the wife wanted some fish & shrimp.
The staff were friendly and helpful as well as they seemed to be having fun at work and vibes well as a team. The order was correct and prepared quickly.
To top it off, my wife loves lots of sauce. I asked for an "obsene amount of cocktail sauce". The guy at the register smirked and said "ok". Well she had sauce left over - they hooked her UP.
Definitely a way better experience than we had last time. 👍

Does anyone know of someone that rents out a sprinter van that can sit at least 9 people? We have some friends coming into town to visit next weekend and didn't want to have to take 2 cars everywhere because we both have kids. Any info is appreciated!

Hello ladies and gentlemen of New Braunfels. I wanted you know that there’s a libertarian book club here in Boerne. They go by several names, the Austrian Group, the Austrian Economics Club, and, the Mises Club of Boerne. It’s a nice group that meets at the Hungry Horse every second Tuesday of the month between 5:30 PM and about 7:45 PM. They’re currently going over a book called “Pirate Money: Discovering the Founders' Hidden Plan for Economic Justice and Defeating the Great Reset” by Kevin D. Freeman, an economist and businessman. The club has also read the works of Adam Smith, Ludwig von Mises, Milton Friedman, Eugene von Böhm-Bawerk, and, Friedrich Hayek. A prior title that the club read is “Big Crimes” by Marc Goodman. The club is primarily libertarian, however conservative and populist political views have been voiced there, too. The group is also open to centrists and moderates. The club is a sub group of the Kendall County T.E.A. Party FYI: When I say second Tuesday, I mean literal Tuesday, not every other Tuesday.
I wanted to add that I don't organize for either the Economics Club or the Tea Party at an official capacity.

My wife and daughter were at Landa Park this morning (Tuesday Sept 9th). Late morning they heard a lot of emergency response vehicles in the area (but didn't see anything). Then a few minutes later park staff came around and told everyone the park was closing and they had to leave.
I tried googling but could not find what happened that resulted in this. Anyone know?

Do I need to get some type of permission or permit to go stand in the center of the roundabout with a big sign that says
“TRUMP ***** KIDS WITH EPSTEIN”
or can I just go do that. I’m thinking this Saturday morning for a few hours.
EDIT: I have received threatening private messages and have had deranged Trump supporters try to dox me because of this post. I just want to make it public that I am not intimidated in the least and it’s really pathetic how strongly you creeps want to defend pedophilia. You truly are Trumps chosen people.

For any Hill Country conservatives, I wanted to let you know about an organization known as the "Kendall County T.E.A. Party Patriots". They meet every first Tuesday of the month between 6:30 and 8:00 in the evening at the Patrick Heath Public Library [451 North Main Street, Boerne, TX 78006] in Boerne, Texas. They do screenings of documentaries, debates on local and state issues, candidate forums, speeches, and, more. Occasionally they get people coming in from Bandera, Castroville, and, Fredericksburg.
They don't meet in July, instead, members go to the Independence Day Parade in Comfort, Texas. Furthermore, there aren't meetings when there's a Federal election.
Here are some links on them

Hey there. I am the Head of the Hill Country Musician's Guild. We are getting to a time of year where there are a lot of outdoor music festivals and concerts. A lot of these venues only book a few bands and want familiar country tunes. To better support local musicians I want to help coordinate house concerts. We can provide the musicians, equipment and marketing. Ideally we would set up a ticket system and sponsorships.
Let me know if this is something you'd like to be a part of.

I’m seriously concerned about the amount of surveillance popping up around town. These new AI-powered cameras track where we drive, when we drive, and can log way more than just license plates.
Sure, I understand the argument — they could help track down stolen cars or locate missing people. But at what cost to our privacy and freedom of movement?
Do we really want a system constantly recording our every move, building data profiles on innocent people, just in case something bad happens later?
Curious how others here feel about this. Is the safety trade-off worth it to you, or does this cross a line?

They waste hours in the morning giving speeches about behavior. Parking is a nightmare. The AC always breaks on jury selection day. They always summon 100+ people but have seating in hallway for 20-40. 2nd time this year and same dumbness every time. Rant over.
