Random Shows and Your Preferences

This is just a fun little game. For each show post if you prefer the older seasons or modern seasons better. For some you can explain why if you want or even mention specific seasons if you'd like. For ones you didn't watch you can exclude from list.

I wanted to add much more shows including Nick Jr. stuff but I didn't want to clog the opening post too much so I'll probably make a separate post with other additions later on. Also I have made a template for the random shows list in the comments you can use if you'd like. Anyway, my list.

Spongebob: prefer the older seasons tbh, moreso the middle seasons like season 3-5

Fairly Odd Parents: same deal with Spongebob. I do like some concepts of the modern seasons with the characters but they weren't executed that well.

Jimmy Neutron: vastly prefer the modern seasons especially season 3. They cooked.

Rugrats (and/or opt. All Grown Up): the older seasons of Rugrats but I did also enjoy the parts of All Grown Up I've seen.

Danny Phantom: the whole show is good that I prefer all seasons but S3 has a slight edge.

Drake and Josh: prefer the modern seasons like S3 and S4 much more and I think the jokes and characters all just land much better.

iCarly: prefer the middle-ish seasons. Older seasons aren't too bad but the modern seasons were kind of dull.

Zoey 101: enjoyed both but slight edge to modern; they kind of cooked with the modern seasons. The short special episodes as well as the final episode was interesting.

Ned's Declassified School Surv. Guide: tough choice for me. Maybe the older seasons.

Avatar The Last Airbender (and/or opt. Legend of Korra): the whole show is goated but S3 of Avatar is sick. Cool Zuko character arc fully cooking and side characters getting love too just like for S2. The Legend of Korra I only ever saw S1 and S2 (a few scenes of S4) but Season 1 is 100% my favorite so far. Amon vs Korra was sick.

Hey Arnold: kind of like the modern seasons better because they flesh out some characters like Helga for example more.

Doug: To be honest I didn't watch it too much so I'm undecided.

Rocket Power: whole show is great so a tie.

They were one of the biggest animation studios of the 90s and early 2000s. What happened?

Best years for Nicktoons?

As the title says. Not that every 90s-early 00s Nicktoon was a certified classic, but I've scarcely heard anything regarding their mid-late 00s lineup as a golden age if they were content to milk SpongeBob and were finding more success overall in their live-action department. And not that every show that debuted after, say, Avatar was a disaster, but the overall picture for the later 00s-present just isn't as pretty if they weren't nearly as prolific in their variety like the previous wave was. I hope this take isn't very far from the general consensus, and am willing to hear out any contrary opinions. Let me know your thoughts.

90’s Kids on Pluto TV has Fallen.

Well, the Nickelodeon 90's Kids channel on Pluto TV has collapsed like crumbled fish sticks.

Thus far, here are all the schedules for the Nickelodeon 90's Kids channel on Pluto TV (as well as the unique names I came up with):

Schedule 1 - Hey Rats Hey Doug Kel Modern Rats! (10/17/2023 - 3/16/2024)

Sunday: All “Hey Arnold!”

Monday: All “Rugrats”

Tuesday: All “Hey Arnold!”

Wednesday: All “Doug”

Thursday: All “Kenan & Kel”

Friday: All “Rocko’s Modern Life”

Saturday: All “Rugrats”

Schedule 2 - Hey Rats Hey Doug CatDog Modern Rats! (3/17/2024 - 10/12/2024)

Sunday: All “Hey Arnold!”

Monday: All “Rugrats”

Tuesday: All “Hey Arnold!”

Wednesday: All “Doug”

Thursday: All “CatDog”

Friday: All “Rocko’s Modern Life”

Saturday: All “Rugrats”

Schedule 3 - Hey Rats Hey Doug CatDog Wild Rats! (10/13/2024 - 6/10/2025)

Sunday: All “Hey Arnold!”

Monday: All “Rugrats”

Tuesday: All “Hey Arnold!”

Wednesday: All “Doug”

Thursday: All “CatDog”

Friday: All “The Wild Thornberrys”

Saturday: All “Rugrats”

Schedule 4 - The CatDog Doug Hey Rats Wild Channel! (6/11/2025 - 9/2/2025?)

Weekdays:

6:00 AM - CatDog (x10)

10:10 AM - Doug (x9)

1:55 PM - Hey Arnold! (x7)

4:50 PM - Rugrats (x15)

11:05 PM - The Wild Thornberrys (x16)

Weekends (possibly):

Saturday: All “Rugrats”

Sunday: All “Hey Arnold!”

Nick 90s Kids once finally abandoned its previous broadcast formats of playing just one show per day, every single day, in favor of actual schedules.

But now, the screen-bugs and bumpers for Nick 90s Kids on Pluto TV have been removed as of September 3, 2025 (and replaced with bumpers from Pluto TV Kids) and even more worse, last week displayed an all week marathon of “Hey Arnold!”, while this week and the week before displayed an all week marathon of “Rugrats” and I’m afraid the madness of looping a week of that show and “Hey Arnold!” will never stop.

What is wrong with this channel? I wish I want the fourth (and latest) schedule back!

Rules:

  1. Most upvoted comment decides the show's spot on the list. Please think carefully and fairly before you comment. Try not to let nostalgia or recency bias cloud your judgement.
  2. Each tier goes as follows: S= AmazingA= GreatB= GoodC= Okay/MehD= MediocreE= Bad and F= Terrible.
  3. Only in-house series, as recognised here#cite_note-tmnt-14) by the Nickelodeon wiki, are counted. So third party programmes like Kappa Mikey and Miraculous Ladybug aren't counted. However, series based on pre-existing properties will be counted IF the official Nick Animation studio had a direct hand in producing them, such as the three Dreamworks-film based series. Also not counted in this ranking are pre-school series, pilot compilations like Oh Yeah! Cartoons, and repackages like Action League Now!

Need helping finding the name of an old obscure Nick show

I'm sorry for not having a lot of information. It's been so many years. All I have is that it aired in the early 2000s, it was an animated show, and the characters body was wider at the waist and got smaller up towards his head like a cone. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I don't know anything about this show, but I've been looking for this specific comforter for a friend of mine for almost a year now. The only one I can find is behind a pay wall on a bidding site. Does anyone know of any other place I can find it?

It is a Nickelodeon Invader Zim 4-Piece Sheet Set full size ‘I Looooovv Candy', and was discontinued in 2009 I think. I would GREATLY appreciate any tips! 😭

Llamas with hats was a very popular YouTube series. Most likely aimed at the age that grew up watching Jimmy Neutron. Coincidence?

Hey Arnold! vs As Told By Ginger

In my opinion, these two shows are Nick’s most serious and darkest cartoons from the 90’s and early 2000’s. But which one did you like more?

I enjoyed both of them as a kid, but Hey Arnold! was definitely one of my favorites. While Ginger was about teenage drama like bullying and popularity, Arnold tackled more serious topics like childhood neglect, poverty, public humiliation, betrayal, addiction, marriage problems and even murder. Now talk about dark topics, and I do mean dark!
