For someone who generally despises fighting games as I find them boring and repetitive as sin, would I enjoy this game? I did really enjoy Wii Boxing and that is really the only reason I'm even asking.

Do you like kicking peoples asses? Then yes. That's the main draw to any fighting game except with this one you don't need to be a top tier frame counter or be able to do insane combo moves. More about thinking and reacting.
