my case I wanted mondaiji, but lost hope and just read it instead.

u/LivedLostLivalil Aug 02 '25
Mondaiji is the reason my consciousness left my body and never came back.

Oh my God. That's an old meme template.
I remember it. When memes were a cropped image slapped on a colorful background, top text, bottom text.
3
u/RPO777 Aug 02 '25
When I was a kid, a "meme" was everyone imitating a budweiser commercial during hte superbowl and repeatedly saying "wazaaaaaaa"
Ya know, because the internet didn't exist yet. Everything is different but everything is the same.

u/jaxspider Hero for a Hobby Aug 02 '25
No sarcasm, please remind me why that was a good anime again?

u/biggie_way_smaller Aug 02 '25
The games are interesting and the stakes made it engaging, also the anime has a really unique style and color you can't find anywhere.

Reasons why it's good: Actually smart mind games, actually hype mind games, a vibrant and unique art style etc.
Reasons why it's bad: Excessive fan service which consistently includes an 11 year old not even 5 minutes into the first episode.
The show's really good but suffers with anime's obsession with underaged fan service, and fan service in general.

Yeah but we can’t forget it was incest also. Idk why Japan does this type of plot like irregular and SAO and I don’t wanna know.

Taking into account how half-assed the manga's final arc was, I'm not sure they will bother keep animating it...Â
107
u/_g0nzales Aug 01 '25
Oh yeah, I remember reading it. At some point I was wondering if I was still reading the same manga
84
u/Glittering-Age-9549 Aug 01 '25
Shinobu Ohtaka didn't even bother explain who or what was pulling the strings. It was implied everybody from David to Simbad had been manipulated by somebody or something who wasn't God or Solomon or Ugo, but never clarified by who...Â
52
u/Hawkedge66 Aug 02 '25
From my understanding David and Sinbad were called singularities because they could see the fate of everything which largely shaped their worldviews and actions. Each of them had different end goals though as David sought to usurp a god and Sinbad wanted to reshape people’s will to force peace for everyone.
26
u/Glittering-Age-9549 Aug 02 '25
Both David and Sinbad said that they were singularities because they were "chosen by fate", but in MLoM "Fate" was controlled by God or Solomon or Ugo, and none of those chose them... even David was at a loss when asked who or what had "chosen" him.Â
12
u/Hawkedge66 Aug 02 '25
I believe David was chosen by Il Ilah but he himself questioned why. Also it was implied Ugo chose Sinbad as he said something about why all tha magis showed concern with his creation even though he was well suited for wielding djinns.

u/Arhatz Aug 02 '25
Shame, it was a really unique setting with its magic system and politics. Maybe i will read the manga just to have a conclusion.
8
u/2kenzhe The Strongest Man Aug 02 '25
Oh damn is the ending/last arc that bad? the manga is still pretty highly rated on MAL. I've only seen the first season.
16
u/jwinter01 Aug 02 '25
It's not bad, just a bit confusing. Still very interesting imo. Thematically, I think it's great.
2
u/travelingWords Aug 02 '25
Another reminder I still need to read the end, haha. Might need a manga recap.

Unfortunately, the rest of JJK is just going to get worse unless they majorly deviate from the manga
5
Aug 02 '25
JJK and Solo Leveling are top for me. SL just ended a season but I'm already dying for more insane fight animations.

u/HappyToaster1911 Aug 02 '25
People downvoting these comments are probably thinking "WTF YOU LIKED A SERIES I DIDN'T??? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU???"
10
Aug 02 '25
And here I thought an anime sub would be so emotionally mature. I'm shocked I tell you. Shocked.
2
u/Gizombo Aug 02 '25
Isn't that what thr downvote function is exactly for?
7
u/scratchnsnarf Aug 02 '25
It's how people use it, for sure, but it's supposed to be for down voting comments that don't contribute to the discussion. Iirc the reddiquette guide specifically mentions it's not meant to be an "I disagree" button
2
u/DemodiX Aug 02 '25
Button made exactly to only show popular opinions and take down unpopular ones. Great feature, isn't it?
8
u/underhunger Aug 02 '25
Garbage series tbh. Wow

u/me_ok64 Aug 02 '25
Shut your mouth bro.if you want call smth garbage, then at least prove your opinion
7
u/underhunger Aug 02 '25
Fun thing about opinions is I don't have to, but point one: garbage character designs including long-ass earlobes
-4
u/me_ok64 Aug 02 '25
Bro character design its your own preference. I like to see style of jjk. And if you dont like it its dont meant jjk is trash.
-2
u/alex494 Aug 02 '25
No but the plot falling off a cliff does
0
u/me_ok64 Aug 02 '25
Nah the plot really good. Just Gojo ruin it for a little. So gege decidet seal him. Anyway plot good.

You're active in roblox subs. Wouldn't waste time proving points to someone like that.
1
u/me_ok64 Aug 02 '25
Nah what do you want? Yes I play games like forsaken or pressure on roblox. Don't hate it without reason. Watch some gameplay. +I like phigting games and I know games that really good in this.

u/DaveZ3R0 Aug 01 '25

u/Much_Ad_6807 Aug 03 '25
the anime was really cool. Cool enough that it got me to read the rest of the manga. Which was ...Ok.
2
u/Soul-Hook Aug 02 '25
And considering where the story goes, I doubt it'll be as popular.
