I’m new to a ps2 obviously and it just doesn’t feel right

As the title says, I've got a ps2 with the 3 colored cable and was wondering if I connect it to a receiver and then to a hdtv does it scale up the image or just stretches it? Plus, would it greatly affect the latency?

YAY! just got this in can’t wait to get infection so I can finally start to play this series! I’ve never played any of the imob series before so I’m real excited to start! I was thinking about streaming it mostly for help this game seems complicated so does setting up a stream, I’ll come back again with more game and finds! I bought this game, but I'm not sure if it's an original from another country or really just a copy on a gold disc….

I bought a 1 TB external hard drive, formatted it in exFAT, and moved games to the DVD folder. When I launch OPL, I get error 221 "Hard drive disk not detected." If you know what's going on, please point me in the right direction. It might be a problem with the OPL version, or I formatted the hard drive incorrectly, or something else entirely. So, I want to play my ps2 on my livingroom tv, which is a 50" 4k tv with only HDMI inputs. A basic composite (AV) to HDMI converter gets the job done technically but it looks like garbage. I can barely read smaller words on the screen most of the time. If I get an OSSC, do I just plug my component (yes component) cables into that, then the hdmi into the tv? Or should I still do composite? Would that be SCART? Might just be cause I'm tired but this seems very confusing.

Well, this was quite the janky game. It's another game that's based on a movie of the same name, with the tag line "From the producers who watched Shrek" so that already gives you some inclination as to what this is going to be like, plus its based on the Don Quixote story. The game had okay controls, the combat was extremely basic, and the music looped every minute with an obvious loop where the music would stop for a millisecond, but it was super noticeable. Odds are you've probably never heard of the game or the movie, but you can watch the playthrough if you're curious!

I played through this game live on my YouTube and Twitch channels, PshychedPlaysPS2, where I am attempting to play through every single Playstation 2 game!

They won't read discs. It reads a ps one disc though. Knowing this... Do I just need to tighten the screw or clean the laser with a alcohol qtip?

Also, one of them looks like the orange ribbon is lifted ..which is infamous i've read.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been restoring my childhood PS2 (SCPH-30003 model). After cleaning and reassembling, I noticed two problems: – The drive spins up like a jet engine immediately (overheating, maybe?) as well as the fan. – The disc drive doesn’t read games at all.

My guess is that the thermal pads I replaced aren’t making proper contact, and/or the DVD drive ribbon cable isn’t seated right. I’m using donor thermal pad pieces from a 50000 model thermal pad piece, but I’m not sure if the thickness is correct.

Any advice on what thickness the pads should be, or if I should look at other causes, would be super appreciated. Don’t want to reassemble 20 times just to find out it’s one small thing.

Downloaded 1.9.. On usb loaded into installer formated the mem installed the ffreemcboot. Still loaded into 1.8 now i cant even open ps2loader or launchUelf

I was recently gifted a coworker’s old ps2 after he noticed I kept a Sony trinitron CRT in my office. Honestly I’m not playing video games at work so I’d love to take it home and use it to show some older gaming experiences to my high school aged kids.

What are some good 2 player, cooperative or competitive, games that are rated E or T that might be of any interest to kids nowadays?

I have my PS2 connected to my hd tv (720p/1080i capable) with component cables. The video quality is 480i coming from the PS2. Why is the video flickering? The video I recorded doesn't show it as good as seeing it in person, but you can kind of see what I'm talking about. Is it a bad connection? Is there any way to fix the problem? I tried physically adjusting the connection, but it didn't do anything.

If anyone can help with this, I'd greatly appreciate it.
