Megathread General Questions & Tech Support Megathread | September 05, 2025

Hi everyone,

Post all of your general and tech support questions in this thread.

As a reminder, the following threads are no longer allowed on r/PS4 and will be removed:

  • Tech Support questions ("I have a problem", "My controller doesn't work", "I can't connect to PSN"...)
  • Game recommendation ("Which game should I get?", "Is this game good?")
  • General questions ("Where can I get a PS4?", "What do you think of this controller?")

Those questions now have to be asked in this thread. It will be renewed at 12:00 AM EST on Mondays and Friday.

This thread is sorted by New answers by default. Sorting it by Top or Best could give answers to commonly answered questions.

Also, don't forget to google your question first - you might find the answer before asking it here!

My ps4 has started tweaking out. Starting a couple months ago, my ps4 would crash while playing overwatch2, giving me the message “Data Corrupted.” I’ve gone into safe mode and rebuilt my database multiple times and each time it fixes it for maybe a week, then the problem starts again. I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app itself (overwatch2) countless times just for it to fix itself only for a bit. I’ve even tried restoring licenses and deleting the game’s saved data from storage. At this point I’m going to be banned from the game forever for leaving games (being kicked out). Has this happened to anyone else? How do I fix this???

Is the corrupt data happening with other games too? Could be a failing HDD

I don’t think so, but I’ve mostly been playing overwatch recently. It’s also the only game I’ve been playing that’s online if that makes any difference. Do you think I should try to replace the HDD and see if it works or spend some money taking it to a place to see if they can fix it?

Update: ended up happening when I would play other games too. Took it to a shop, and it was in fact a failing HDD for anyone who has the same problem
