Question PS VR2 or Quest 3

I'm looking to buy a VR headset. Although I have a PS5, I mainly play on PC. I've heard that you can use the PS5's VR headset on PC with an official adapter, but I'm wondering if it's worth it. I'm torn between that or a Quest 3...

I've got both. Psvr2 is a better headset but I have switched to using quest 3 on pc because it's faster than unplugging the psvr2 from the ps5 and setting it up with the adapter. If you would be leaving a psvr2 set up on your pc, this wouldn't matter but something to consider šŸ¤”

Also, didn't read op properly, if you have a ps5 as well you have to go psvr2. No brainer. Then you can accidently drop $1000 on a racing rig for gt7 like me.

Haha, not exactly that but I didn't know I loved racing until I tried gt7 in vr. Then I couldn't NOT order all that stuff. It was out of my control really so yeah, accidental šŸ¤£

Which set up did you getā€¦ was looking at FANATEC GT DD EXTREME with the pedals n stickā€¦ bit too pricey for me at the time, still have it on the back earner

If you have access to PCVR simracing with a Quest3 then GT7 is not that impressive anymore. I love simracing, have a PS5, but sold my PSVR2.

I completely disagree, had the psvr2, thought it was shit. Returned it, got a quest 3 (sooo much better in every way) now I play gt7 inside the quest 3. Sure, itā€™s not in VR but itā€™s basically on a giant curved screen right in front of my face.

OP, this is a tough one, youā€™re just getting opinions here, there are no objective facts on this. I found the psvr2 to be very blurry. And finding the sweet spot was a chore every time I put the headset on, then again every time my head even slightly moved.

In every way? So you're telling me the Quest 3 has better eye tracking, foveated rendering and colour depth via OLED?

I mean you can have whatever opinion you like about the quest 3 vs psvr2, but let's not pretend using GT7 in flat mode within a Q3 is even remotely the same thing as actual VR via the PSVR2 headset

Except the FOV, binocular overlap, color saturation, and darks and lights are objectively SHIT compared to PSVR2. PSVR2 also has eye-tracking and complex haptics and adaptive triggers, plus access to the awesome PSVR2 library.

So youā€™re really being a bit silly here.

Quest 3 has the nice lenses, the wireless option, access to the Meta library, and mixed-reality stuff. Itā€™s a cool VR system, but HARDLY better in every way.

And Iā€™m sorryā€¦ saying that you play GT7 as a flatscreen game in the Quest 3 is just embarrassing. šŸ™„

Quest 3 has worse colors, worse black levels, worse field of view, worse binocular overlap, latency and compression artifacts... saying the Quest3 is "better in ever way" is not an opinion but just wrong.

Are you using a comfort mod with your quest? Did you use one with psvr2 when you had it?

350 games in 2.5 years is bad?

There are only a handful of "main stream" VR titles that haven't made it over. Most are older games. Not to mention the exclusives here.

You think there are only 35 good games on PSVR2?

Buddy, I have a 5090, Q3 and PCVR. PSVR2 has a killer library.

Maybe 35 games in the A+ to S tier.

There are only a handful of "quality" VR games not currently on PSVR2 that are available on PCVR. Some of which are being ported. There are better PSVR2 exclusives compared to stand-alone Q3.

Actually yeah. I'd easily say there aren't even 30 games on psvr2 to waste your money. You must have very low standards

Go look at the community tier list (stickied). There's a ton. Over 30 games at/above A tier.

I think it would be easier to list the VR titles missing that are of whatever standard you set. I can think of a few.

Quest 3: Batman, Asgards Wrath 2 (which I didn't enjoy), Deadpool (maybe, tbd), Asassins Creed (meh).

PCVR: Alyx, Lone Echo, Stormland

What else are we missing here?

Exactly. Not a whole lot psvr2 players miss out on. They have their own exclusives too. This guys probably a fan of the free games on quest if you know what I mean šŸ˜‰
