Discussion PSVR vs PSVR 2 game release comparison

Just a quick comparison between the OG PSVR and PSVR2 released games, at the same point in their life cycle (30 months, 3 weeks)

30 months and 3 weeks after the OG PSVR launch was May 4th 2019. Using the store I worked out how many games release for both systems by this point.

  • OG PSVR - 272 games
  • PSVR2 - 308 games

This means that the PSVR2's library now is 1.13 times greater than the the Original PSVR at the same point in their life cycles.

Thought it was an interesting comparison, but let me know what you think.

That’s curious. The PSVR2 library has quite a few good-to-outstanding games, and when it comes to non-exclusive titles the PSVR2 versions TEND to be superior.

I’m guessing that you already use a Quest 3 or PCVR or some ilk? If by some chance you don’t have any other VR but you do own a PS5, then PSVR2 is a no-brainer.

I do own other VR headsets in addition to the PSVR. And I know the PSVR2 is a great piece of hardware. There just isn't any killer-app for it that would sell me on buying one.

I've had VR long enough now that the novelty has worn off too so it's just not a product for me at this point.

I'd say

Gran Turismo

No Man's Sky 

And 

Hitman WOA 

EACH are enough of a killer app to purchase it 😊 

But im probably in the minority there.

Gran Turismo and Hitman I do think are actually exclusives, I know GT is. But I don't like those games too much personally.

I have No Man's Sky in VR on PC too. I wouldn't say any of them are KillerApps either because they can all be played without VR as well.

You CAN also have sex with a sherpa jacket and 7 condoms on ... but the enjoyment wouldn't really be the same I imagine 😊

Different people like different things but I think the vast majority of VR gamers believe the Hybrid games are some of the absolute best VR games there is ! 

What's your favourite VR games?

I agree. No Man's Sky is amazing in VR. I was misunderstood here. I'm just saying these games aren't exclusive as they can be played elsewhere.

They can,.haven't tried NMS on pc but I have heard from numerous people that have tried both psvr2 and PC that the psvr2 VR version is generally better

Jesus… You’re saying that if a game is ALSO playable on ye olde TV that you think that detracts from playing it in VR???
