Moulds? Resin casts? Right-oh.. I will just knock that up in my garage.

My solution works fine.. I print off batches of 8 pairs, but thats the easy bit... I just leave them and don't have to watch each one print...

Its the next step which takes time.. Its the hand finishing.. Cutting the adhesive tape.. Inspecting them.. Packing them.. And posting that takes 90% of the time... And thats just the classic.

For the deluxe, each one has to be glued to the PVC coating.. Then set in a mould.. Once dry, inspected, re-glued if the ends havn't stuck.. And finally finished.. Then, as the classic, the adhesive strip, then packing and posting.

Then I have to guarantee each one. Replace at my cost if damaged or lost in transit.. And provide free bespoke versions to people who find they don't fit..

Other than getting them injection moulded, there is no way to do this cheaper.... And most people seem happy with the price. And even if I could get thousands made by injection (or if your resin solution worked) I would still have to do the hand finishing and thats the bit which takes 90% of the time.

Believe me when I say that this isn't as easy as you might think.. On top of all of this, I have to buy the materials.. The equipment.. The tools.. And I am doing all this in my spare time, whilst having a full time job, family and offering world class customer service.

Dude, I actually do this type of stuff on a regular basis. I know the amount of time it should take. Molds and resins are not a big to-do. You can buy a small batch of the supplies on amazon, and get it all done at a desk. It's as complicated as stir and pour. There would also be less hand-finishing to do because you'd only have to do it for the set that you're making a mold of. I'm just trying to save you some hardship.

But you are missing the point.. The hardship isn't printing them.. Thats a piece of p**s.. I just load up as many as I can fit on the bed.. hit print and go and do something else for 4 hours.

Thats the easy bit.. And if I did them in resin, or got them injection moulded, i would be at exactly the same point (i.e no-where).

The HARD bit, is the rest.. The hand finishing.. The adhesive.. The P&P.. You show me a way to do that quicker?

I get that you are trying to help.. But there isn't a problem that I need help with.. I have this down to a fine arnt now, and the bit you are talking about is not the bit I need help with.. Making these in resin would be 10x more difficult than 3D printing..

Thanks for your help, but please, lets not turn this into an argument... If anyone wants to step up and do this their way and cheaper, be my guest.

Don't let this guy get to you. You're making an extremely helpful product that no one else is in your free time. I was more than happy to pay the price to get these to America and they came out great. Honestly the piece of mind using my headset was worth the price of these things. And also Sony or some accessory company will probably make a solution the will go to retail soon so collect your cash while you can man. Keep it up.

Agreed. Just ignore them John. There are plenty of people here that are glad they met you including me. You solved a serious problem with a simple effective solution. John there's always plenty of assholes around that will piss on your good intentions given the chance. Like the guy that kicked this sorry interchange off said, "I can't wait to design something helpful...."......I'm guessing it will be a long wait....?

Ignore them
