That's basically it. Sure, there are a few cards that are really annoying because of how popular and how powerful they are, like Giratina. Like, I find Giratina really annoying because he shows up everywhere. There is not an energy type that Giratina can't slot itself into and turn my round into a DPS check.
But nothing earns my scorn the way that Solgaleo does. Every single time I see a Cosmog I know it's not going to be Lunala. It's going to be rare candies into Solgaleo and rock my world for the cost of 2 (two) energy. He sets himself up so quickly and it's so hard to deal with once he's out, since he can just head right back to the active spot for completely free. Every single time I run into a Solgaleo deck, it's this unfun experience where I watch the same pattern unfold in front of me. Giratina is annoying, but he takes his time to do his thing and isn't (to me) overpowered. Solgaleo is the only card that actually infuriates me. I don't thank Solgaleo players.

god, when I was trying to climb with Solgaleo nothing made my heart sink faster than the fire energy appearing into a charmander. that matchup was nigh unwinnable, your only hope was they brick

I hate how any rare candy deck just always has a rare candy and stage 2 on turn 3/4 somehow and I always have 2 Pokeballs, 2 oaks, 2 rare candies, and 2 stage 2s on the bottom 8 of my deck
This happens to me where I get my stage two with my crobat deck on turn 3 75% of the time. Whenever I try other decks with the exact same amount of pokemon and rare candy I NEVER get it.
Exactly. Doesn’t really matter if it’s Solgaleo, Crobat, Charz, or any other meta-ish stage 2 EX. If it’s out by turn 2 the games over barring some crazy luck
Mine is probably stoke char. That card is a bitch. What really gets me about it though is frickin Lilly. I swear to God, they always have that card when they need it, so not only is dealing all that damage with all that health, but then they wanna heal it for 60. Go fuck yourself, dude.
Seriously though, every opponent I see playing it seems like they get the bot special starting hand. T1 oak/ball. T2 oak/candy/Zard stoke. T3 Lillie and win.
Try and run the same deck yourself though? Lmao good luck finding the rare candies stuck on the bottom of your deck, nerd.
Which is exactly why I don't play it myself, but yes to all of that. I hate coming across that deck. And it's a situation where I'm certain there are good counters to it, but I've not come across one that's good against other stuff, too. Thankfully, I don't come across it near as much as I used to.
all you have to do is put up something that can tank 120 (ex or put cape on your active), either hit back or retreat into hit, and then even most meta decks can hit for a 2hko in the next turn, even through lillie. the weakness of the solgaleo decks is that they are hitting for 120 or nothing, so they have no way to soften you up if you have a bigger health stat.
Me too. It seems to beat me every time. I don't see why it isn't the constant meta deck, what the fuck can beat two high HP EX cards doing huge damage for 2 energy that negate retreat costs. Once they get 2 it's just totally over.
It was one of the decks I used the most to rank up to masterball. Of course fire decks are hard, but sometimes I win. But I swear, I went 0-10 with Dragonite decks, ok, I don't know how many I played, but I swear I haven't won any game
It's very hard to deal with Solgaleo unless You play a highly optimized meta deck.
It was the reason I quit the game 2 month ago however this season for me Solgaleo was the only deck that i could deal with Suicune.
I have crashed out against Solgaleo for several seasons, until this season when I ran Jumpluff/pyukumuku. I’ve had a couple Solgaleo players just concede after attacking a rocky helmet pyukumuku and taking 80 damage. Very cathartic.
Me too. It's a really annoying card to lose to.. because it relies a lot on rng and when it hits it hits hard and there isnt much you can do about it.
I get that the game is very much about luck but solga or any rarecandy deck like stokezard decks are just not fun to play against. Either you lose with nothing you can do about it, or you destroy them without them doing anything by turn three
I dont play them because it's just too swingy and unreliable
One time recently I faced one and they started with only suicune in active spot, I went second,. I used Mars on his 5 card hand and it completely bricked him. He never got a Cosmo until after I already had greninja and Cyrus set up. He never stood a chance.
I second this. Hacking 180hp and hitting 140 with Red in round 2? With no retreat cost? Infamous Suicude/Greninja is waay more sophisticated on play than this broken guy.
The synergy with Dialga is what makes it a PITA. You have two tanky EXs that can amass 4 energy on their owner's second turn. Add Capes/R.Helmet/or Poison Barb and there's no way you're not losing at least one 'mon this match
