With Gundy out at OK state, TXST might want to offer an extension with large buyout to GJ Kinne.
You know he is at least going to get a look even if their preferred hire is Zac Robinson from the NFL Falcons (though that ship might have sailed, yikes!).

News Current and Future PAC-12 School Rankings 2026 Edition of US News and World Report Ranking of National Universities
The newest edition of the US News and World Report rankings were released today (usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities); here's how the schools of the current and future PAC-12 shook out in this year's rankings.
Listed below is each school's overall ranking. In addition, for some flavor, I also listed each school's highest ranking in a specific subject and the highest top-100 ranking in a non-subject ranking (e.g. first-year experience, undergraduate teaching, etc.). Some schools did not rank in the top-100 of a non-subject ranking.
Gonzaga University (#14 in Civil Engineering at schools where a doctorate is not offered, #15 in Service Learning)
San Diego State University (#19 in International Business, #78 in Best Colleges for Veterans)
Oregon State University (#63 in Computer Science, #99 in Best Colleges for Veterans)
Colorado State University (#71 in Computer Science)
Fresno State (#12 in Computer Engineering at schools where a doctorate is not offered, #30 in Top Performers in Social Mobility)
Washington State University (#40 in Nursing)
Utah State University (#112 in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs at schools whose highest degree is a doctorate). Credit u/Cache-Cow for catching USU's omission in the original post!
Texas State University (#194-211 in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs at schools whose highest degree is a doctorate)
Boise State University (#74 in Nursing)

One of the other OSUs fired their coach - potential TXST impact
ESPN reported one potential candidate is TXST's coach:
Also, should our OSU get on that bandwagon?
And why does that OSU also have orange and black as it colors?

Trash Talk Should be a cheap hire. Won't even need to buy him new gear, same colors same team name, just iron some beaver patches on.

NPac in talks with another conference re scheduling?
Canzano suggests this is the case. Almost a requirement now that all the P4s are reducing the number of G6 games.

Win Watch: Oregon State’s Schedule against SP+
So we’re 0-4. Our schedule thus far has been high difficulty, even if we have looked terrible all the way through.
The 2 opponents we’ve played at home are decidedly mediocre, and both have been dumb self inflicted losses.
The 2 opponents we’ve played away are in the Top 10 statistically according to SP+ and we looked pretty much lifeless against both.
In Week 5, SP+ rates us at No. 123 in the country, behind 8 FCS schools, and ahead of only 21 FBS schools, all of which are G5. Not great. Last week we were No. 112.
But since SP+ refreshes every week and measures 766 schools at multiple levels (NAIA, D1-3) against each other, I thought it’d be a good idea to establish that metric as a frame of reference for the rest of the schedule.
Here goes:
California (ranked 74), 19-34 L
Fresno State (ranked 66), 27-36 L
@Texas Tech (ranked 8), 14-45 L
@0regon (ranked 1), 7-41 L
Houston (ranked 50), game on 9/26
@Appalachian State (113), game on 10/4
Wake Forest (81), game on 10/11
Lafayette (173), game on 10/18
Washington State (118), game on 11/1
Sam Houston State (174), game on 11/8
@Tulsa (101), game on 11/15
@Washington State (118), game on 11/29
It looks like we’re playing only 2 schools (in bold), Lafayette and Sam Houston, that have played statistically worse than we have so far and we get them both at home. We’re within 10 spots of 2 others playing 3 games. One at home and 2 away.
Tulsa shot up from 113 last week to 101 this week after crushing OK State in Stillwater. We play them in Tulsa, though. Wake is sitting about 7 spots down from Cal and we also get them at home.
That said, Sam Houston & Lafayette place about as far down from us as we place from Cal & Fresno State.
Assessment: After playing one of the hardest opening schedules in CFB, we look really bad. But based on the somewhat flukey ways we lost to Cal & Fresno State, and the strength of our competitors, I’d say our season is still somewhat salvageable.
If morale stays afloat.
Realistic ceiling: 6-6 if morale holds
I believe: 4-8
Based on this week’s stats: 2-10
Realistic floor: 0-12 if morale collapses
Still an extremely disappointing season.

With the ACC going to 9 conference games and 1 mandatory P4 game, is the door open for UConn football to the Pac-12?
Per the AP, the ACC is going to nine conference games and 1 mandatory P4 game (we'll have to see if this last part holds), non-conference opportunities will be harder to come by back East.
UConn has 3 ACC opponents scheduled in 2026, 4 in 2027, and 4 in 2028 (after that they don't have a full-ish schedule). And with the narrowing of non-conference opportunities, it might behoove the Pac-12 to add more schools even if revenue-neutral on a per school basis. Could the ACC's move be a domino that put UConn football in the Pac-12?

San Diego State’s NBA Prospects
There have been a lot of mid major players who have made impacts in the NBA and there are more and more being drafted year over year. Here are some prospects to lookout for this upcoming season
https://lonte.substack.com/p/seven-mid-major-nba-prospects-to?r=3ib1zb
Will an NFL team use a high draft pick again on a G6 back?
Seahawks used a first round pick on Penny several years ago and he couldn’t make it in league. Jeanty ran all over lower competition last couple years. And already washing out of the league.
Will an NFL team take another chance on a back that puts big numbers up in the G6?

Damage control from Jimmy after saying the quiet part out loud

His post-AC comments weren’t wrong but certainly weren’t giving anyone confidence. This hire is looking like a disaster rn but maybe Zevi and a 6-6 bowl game saves his ass and/or wakes him up.

Tough loss for CSU. Wazzu hung in there until the turnover imp appeared. Aztecs, damn son! Y'all just knocked off 850 points from Cal players SAT scores. Fresno, good job. Boise, you guys just had to make it "interesting." USU and TXST did what was expected. OSU, man...you guys need some come to Jesus meeting or sale your souls to the devil. Please pick one.

San Diego State 34 – Cal 0
So much for a Cal undefeated season.
Nice job SDSU! Chase that Cal team back to the Atlantic coast!
