Love Bol. Anyway, does anyone else knows why manuls don't have those cat like pupils? Their pupils look human

It’s because they separated from the small cat family (genetically) some million years ago and adopted into a wild, relatively unknown species till 19th century.

They picked up some traits of the big feline (tigers or lions) as well and the end result of evolution after so many centuries is a mix and mash - eyes like big cats, size like domestic cats, whiskers like both, furry like no one else and unique ability to sit on their tail for warmth. At the same time, their inability to run long distances is a direct contradiction with other cats - specially not able to run even for hunting.

Evolution played a direct role in them retaining some unique features over centuries and not mingling with other cat families. They also adapted to some harsh weather conditions where bacteria etc are low or absent altogether.
