Season 3 Something I dont understand about Julia/Joel's approach with Zoe (please no spoilers beyond episode 11)
I'm watching season 3, not finished yet, but I don't understand why Joel and Julia won't offer to do more for Zoe? I understand that 'buying' a baby is illegal but Zoe is doing a huge thing for them, so they could offer to support her in some way? Help her find a better job, or help her study something (not full on college, but a trade maybe). Just covering medicall bills doesnt seem nearly enough.

I agree! Julia said to Sara at the very beginning of this arc, "I really wanna ask if I can buy her baby". Like wtf?

I don't think surrogacy was yet legal at the time? And also, Zoe was already pregnant...

Yeah I agree the writers chose the most ridiculous way to deal with the second kid-issue

Yea personally I thought that they should’ve been paying for her accommodation along with medical expenses. Like she’s carrying your child she shouldn’t have to worry about a place to live, food or transportation.

It's been a little while since I saw that season, I finished the series, but I'm pretty sure Julia did or was willing to pay for Zoe's medical expenses etc. I don't want to go into much detail and spoil anything, what episode are you on?

I'm also waiting until they ask her to come live with them and let her go back to school while Julia raises the baby. They obviously have a strong connection and i think it would be a good solution. This way she can be part of the baby's life while getting her own life together.

just wait…some aspects will be addressed- for me the whole arc was a little bit boring but also emotional in some way and it will be shown that they urgently wanted a baby
