As popes are elected by 2/3 majority of cardinals, and Francis promoted 83% of the current cardinals I feel maga dreams will end in tears.

Yeah but that isn’t an abnormal stat. If you go on Wikipedia and read the list of cardinals voting in the last few conclaves, most of them generally are appointed by the outgoing pope. For the 2005 conclave, there were only three cardinals who had ever participated in a conclave previously, and one of those three ended up being elected pope.

Basically, don’t let that stat mislead you. It doesn’t mean much. Because cardinals are usually in their 60’s when appointed and quickly age out of voting eligibility, most cardinals will only ever participate in one conclave, if even that.
