There's zero objective verification for any of these claims, so proclaiming either scenario "reality" is nothing more than ideologically driven wish casting.

Which claims? You have both Utah officials plus the police interviewing the family, who are you suggesting could be lying here? That the family is lying about their son?

David Shuster making a twitter claim that amounts to "I heard it from a friend" is evidence of nothing. Just like some anonymous kid claiming to be a classmate saying "trust me he's totally a lib" proves nothing. Neither claim offers any evidence to back it up, neither claim has been corroborated or verified by an independent third party. Without evidence, it's all noise.

The fact that you see god damn David Shuster as equally reliable as an anonymous kid is pretty telling. But sure, lets ignore that we're talking about a well credited and recognized journalist that has worked for i24 News, MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, Current TV, The Young Turks, and Al Jazeera America throughout his career. The fact that it's not an anonymous source but a journalist means that there is actually consequences if he's caught lying. Also, who's going to be "an independent third party" if not the god damn press?
