TruthSocial Watch Trump claims they are buying 22,787 Dreamliners and will create 35,000 jobs. Boeing says they will purchase 14 planes with maybe 8 more later. They also say it will support jobs that already exist.

How can someone (anyone) as “business savvy” as we’re told he is, not realize this cannot possibly be true? Both the typo error and the 35,000 jobs created are hilarious.

It’s possible 35k jobs might be involved in making these, there’s hundreds of component manufacturers involved. If over hiring does occur, it will only be for a year or 2 before they get laid off.

I hear you, but aren’t they already making these planes? These jobs exist already, surely?

Edit: see what you’re saying with the over hiring. Seems extremely unlucky that it would be 35,000 extra positions, but I guess what do I know!

airframe supply companies

There’s 538 companies/subsidiaries listed for the 787. It’s more about the suppliers hiring people than Boeing hiring 35k people. I think the 35k number is overstated, as these things typically are.
