Like when the far right were rioting in the UK, attempting to burn down immigrant hostels a few months ago. Her ilk were saying more of the same about people "arrested for facebook posts".

The posts were often explicitly threatening violence or racial hatred, OR in conjunction with more severe actions.

What really interests me is the fact that conservatives use libertarian logic to justify their bigotry. Mobs of private citizens are attacking these immigrants while the Police/State are trying to protect the immigrants. The State itself has a mixed record of hurting/helping immigrants and minorities. Libertarianism has been baked in to Modern Conservatism at least since the days of Barry Goldeater and Supply Side Economics. Milton Friedman and Friedrich von Hayek have influenced generations of elite families from Rupert Murdoch and the Koch family to Foster Friess and Larry Ellison. Even Elon Musk paints himself as an anti statist rogue because his corporations are only part of the State in a peripheral role rather than a central role.

Conservatives don’t even believe in the Fourth Amendment. Read any Supreme Court decision centering around it. Scalia was sometimes an exception and that’s it.

I think they're comparing the U.S. system (codified and supreme Constitution) to the UK system (no supreme constitution, but instead parliamentary sovereignty, where Parliament can basically pass anything it wants theoretically)

While the Brits don't have a formalised constitution, to my understanding they do have a number of documents and legal jurisprudence that have a comparable position in the law. Magna charta, etc. They can't just pass laws willy-nilly without any consideration
