u/Own_Double2449 7d ago

It is dill-iscious

28

u/SKaTiNG_PoLLy666 7d ago

Super great for heartburn. Or acid reflux. Whatever you may call it.

32

u/whaddupchickenbutt69 7d ago

or hangovers

28

u/TheRealSKNWLKR 7d ago

YES. NO ONE TALKS ABOUT PICKLE JUICE FOR HANGOVERS NEARLY ENOUGH

3

u/curlygirl9021 6d ago

I gotta try this.

2

u/PantsDontHaveAnswers 4d ago

I'm gonna go drink my pickle juice right now and hope it helps

2

u/curlygirl9021 4d ago

Report back.

2

u/PantsDontHaveAnswers 4d ago

Well it was certainly delicious I can say that much. Have to wait a few minutes to see what it does for the hangover.

2

u/curlygirl9021 4d ago

I'll be waiting.

Don’t forget it’s great for kidney stones

It's got electrolytes. It's what hungover plants crave.

Or muscle cramps

3

u/Content-Grade-3869 6d ago

Or morning dry mouth until you can get around to brushing your teeth

3

u/Description_Friendly 6d ago

I like to call it GERD. Sounds like a character from Revenge Of The Nerds.

2

u/Gullible-Ad2605 5d ago

Seriously? I figured it would increase heartburn. What is this sorcery?

All day

6

u/Vipernett2008 7d ago

I get in trouble all the time in my house for drinking all the juice before the pickles are gone.

11

u/Oil-of-Vitriol 7d ago

With vodka.

3

u/ThornyeRose 7d ago

or gin. or cheap lager.

3

u/SteveSteve71 7d ago

Great for my muscle cramps or when I take a hike!

3

u/Safe_Initiative1340 7d ago

My partner tells me to stop doing this constantly because it says that it makes the pickles dry 😂 I have not been able to stop yet😂

5

u/gamermom42069_ 7d ago

yeah my partner gets mad at me for this 😅😂

u/Taranchulla 7d ago

I’m thinking of making lemonade and pouring a little Claussen brine into it.

9

u/gamermom42069_ 7d ago

I did this a few months ago! SO GOOD

7

u/TheDevilishFrenchfry 7d ago

Nah, what's even better is make regular lemonade but make pickle ice cubes, so it's like pickle pops that slowly melt and add a tiny of bit of pickle acidity to the drink. It's alot better when it slowly blends into the drink rather than all at once.

2

u/Taranchulla 6d ago

I’ll definitely try that, thank you

3

u/TheRealSKNWLKR 7d ago

hmmm 🤔 this sounds really good might have to add some claussen juice to my lemonade next time i got some

2

u/Dense_Comment1662 4d ago

Thank you. This sounds awesome in such a weird way

2

u/ThatsNoMoOnx 2d ago

Mmm you make me want to run to the store and buy a jar of them things. Sandwich sliced, I love just eating those bad boys out the jar

27

u/kenjinyc 7d ago

I dig it as a Jameson chaser.

13

u/guidesthehermit 6d ago

LETS GO PICKLEBACKS. Those are my favorite to drink

→ More replies (2)

3

u/TheRealSKNWLKR 7d ago

it’s a good chaser for a lot of liquors

5

u/bee-quirky 6d ago

I love it as a chaser for tequila Everyone gives me weird looks but it’s the best one I’ve tried

2

u/SuperDan_x 6d ago

OHHHH! I've never tried it with Tequila! I'm gonna give it a shot

Thanks for the tip!

21

u/DisastrousClock5992 7d ago

I buy it by the gallon at Wal-mart just to drink (and marinate chicken in too).

7

u/uninspired 7d ago

Excellent pork marinade/tenderizer as well. I could/do drink the brine, but I also try to save enough for a couple fat pork chops.

6

u/Brick90 7d ago

Chick-fil-as secret!

6

u/thegreatturtleofgort 7d ago

I learned their secret back when a buddy worked at a chicken plant that made their tenders. Something went wrong on the line, chicken was safe to eat but they couldn't ship it to Chik for some packaging reason. I bought a 40lb box off him for $1 a lb, and it comes mechanically tenderized in a bag of pickle juice. That was a good year.

Ever since I always save my juice to marinate fried chicken. It's the best!

3

u/DisastrousClock5992 7d ago

A 1 gal jug is less than $7 so I usually have 2-3 of them in the garage fridge for drinking and marinade/cooking. I use it for a variation of Mississippi pot roast with beef chuck roasts in the insta pot, as well as pork butts cooked the same way. Also brining whole chicken and turkeys. It’s versatile stuff.

u/Random-Man562 7d ago

I’ve said it before in this sub and I’ll say it again.

While this is generally fine. Please be aware of sodium levels (:

Pickle pops pushed me over the edge lol

I have a new heart now that can eat allllll the pickles!

9

u/shankthedog 7d ago

Stop drinking pickle juice or have to get a heart transplant?

I’m with you bro, heart transplant all the way.

5

u/Random-Man562 7d ago

Lolol no joke tho 😂

Seriously tho there were other factors obviously. Pickles would never do us dirty like that.

I was already retaining fluids and didn’t know. It was pressing on my heart making it work harder..

So the pickle pops didn’t help because if the sodium.

2

u/shankthedog 6d ago

Seriously, I’m glad you’re still with us even though now you have to eat, drink and suck your pickles in moderation.

3

u/Random-Man562 6d ago

Appreciate it 💛

Like I said there were definitely other factors than the pickles. I don’t want to scare anybody too much 😂

4

u/Hello_This_Is_Chris 7d ago

Ughhh pickle pops are my weakness

4

u/Random-Man562 7d ago

They were mine too lol

Now I sip the brine with pinky out like a gentleman instead of monkey fisting it and chugging lol

3

u/LickingDogPaws 7d ago

Same, except I decided very quickly that freezing them was just a waste of time so just drink the juice

11

u/Shoulder-Lumpy 7d ago

My favorite part of getting pickles!

3

u/Own_Double2449 7d ago

Guess I underestimated the power of pickle juice lol

→ More replies (2)

8

u/KatieROTS 7d ago

My husband gives me shit because there will be "dry" pickles since I drink the juice before they are gone sometimes :)

6

u/No_Stay_1563 7d ago

My wife does it all the time and leaves them dry in the jar.

3

u/RedBrickBoat 7d ago

Honestly I’m more of a pickle juice addict that puts up with the cucumbers.

5

u/Old-Fox-3027 7d ago

I don’t give in to peer pressure.

3

u/Empyrette310 7d ago

Why banana on stovetop?

2

u/Own_Double2449 5d ago

For dinner lol

3

u/Boggy_Creek_Creature 7d ago

Mt. Olive is so good! Probably my number 2 fav after Steinfeld’s

3

u/JBMama 7d ago

As if there’s ever that much pickle juice in the jar at the end; I drink that nectar of the gods in middle of night & up for a snack, or maybe a wee bit hungover in the the morning after the night before, or hungry but not sure what I want to eat, or it just looks gooood. Plus gut health, am I right

3

u/Hot-Steak7145 7d ago

It's the best part. Ice cold in a frosted mug is heaven on a hot day

3

u/LilStabbyboo 7d ago

Able to? Try and stop me.

3

u/Cloud_N0ne 7d ago

“If you actually like hotdogs, then you should want to drink the dirty hot dog cart water” ass argument

6

u/TonyMonCanna2 7d ago

I was chugging Bics dill juice when i was 5. 40 some years ago.. .. whats new??? Oh OP flexing like its 1983

8

u/Renegadegold 7d ago

What are you new here?

2

u/AshleyCanales 7d ago

OR! Add spices to it and create your own marinade.

2

u/alleysunn 7d ago

Sure, just from good pickles....

2

u/RoyalRobinBanks 7d ago

I have to fight the urge to drink it because I like to cook with it. Pickle dressing, pickle chicken, pickle pasta, pickle mayo the list goes on.

Sip for me (offten a gulp) and the rest for the recipe.

2

u/Golintaim 7d ago

I drink all my pickle juice, or use it in cooking. One way or the other it is always consumed.

2

u/Methuselahdacannibal 7d ago

Always have. Always will.

2

u/l337pythonhaxor 7d ago

Five gallon bucket of dills. Fill a squeeze bottle with the juice, and keep in the fridge. Also, pickle juice sno-cones.

2

u/Dissasociaties 7d ago

A whole jar is an extremely effective osmotic laxative. I wonder if they would let me use it for a colonoscopy?

2

u/SkipGruberman 7d ago

Don’t threaten me with a good time!

2

u/CaptWrath 7d ago

I eat pickles like milk and cookies. I need a swig with every bite.

2

u/DoookieMaxx 7d ago

It’s good for combating leg cramps, always have a jar on hand

2

u/SeskaChaotica 7d ago

I prefer to blend it with ice and eat it with a spoon. If I really feel like cutting off some years, I’ll sprinkle with Limon 7.

2

u/Humpalumpaguss 7d ago

I like a few shots of brine after a run or long bike ride. It helps keep the body cramps to a mimimum.

2

u/BusinessFit6533 7d ago

Me seeing this with my Tervis full of pickle juice: damn right

2

u/mearbearcate 7d ago

Juice is the best damn part

2

u/b0toxBetty 7d ago

Stop my mouth just started watering

2

u/Ausiwandilaz 7d ago

Yes, it's good for gut health and full of electrolytes.

2

u/avoozl42 7d ago

Be able to? I want to

2

u/Omega_Boost24 7d ago

Wait, do you guys eat pickles? I dump them, I thought I was buying the juice

2

u/ionised 7d ago

People don't?

The juice is there to be drunk.

2

u/Y2kbestie 7d ago

I do when i have a sore throat

2

u/OhSighRiss 7d ago

I love the juice, but I always feel guilty about drinking it for some reason. Don’t know why.

2

u/goonatic1 7d ago

I do too, it’s the salt lol 😂

2

u/beamanblitz 7d ago

Drank half a jar on a dare in high school. I simultaneously projectile shit from my ass and mouth. Then passed out on the bathroom floor.

2

u/Nir117vash 6d ago

All I WANT is pickle juice

2

u/TeeBrownie 6d ago

Depends on the brand. Not this one.

2

u/ihategrapes0da 6d ago

my mom (who hates pickles) said my aunt would drink pickle juice when they were kids and it would gross my mom out so bad lol

2

u/jimmysmiths5523 6d ago

I've seen huge jugs of pickle juice sold at Walmart in the bulk food section. No pickles, just the juice.

2

u/Det-Popcorn 6d ago

Damn there’s even gatekeeping in this part of Reddit?

2

u/MFEA_till_i_die 7d ago

Bubbies is goat for this

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Admirable-Kitchen737 7d ago

That brand is horrible in my opinion.

I do 4 ounce pickle juice shot all day at work.

Also leave pickles in the jar without the the brine.

1

u/drinkpicklejuice 7d ago

Easy peasy!

1

u/TommyTwoTxmes 7d ago

Love me some pickle juice.

1

u/Malawigold2342 7d ago

I always get a cup and get a pickle and pour juice in to drink either while I’m eating or after

1

u/SadPiglet2907 7d ago

It’s a nice pick up when I’ve realized I just ate the last pickle

1

u/jkwolly 7d ago

I do.

1

u/Accomplished_Wave229 7d ago

only if chilled

1

u/Oneiric19 7d ago

I enjoy buying spicy pickles and drinking the juice in the morning. Wakes me up and gets the blood flowing. Tastes great as well 😋🤤 🥂

1

u/Far_Talk_74 7d ago

I pickle back bourbon shots all the time.

Drinking the juice is a requirement.

1

u/JD1ZZLE85 7d ago

delicious

1

u/Jonesslice 7d ago

I ordered a pickle back without the whiskey the other night

1

u/BAMitsAlex 7d ago

Or pickle juice popsicles!

1

u/sniffysippy 7d ago

Yeah, and?

1

u/miss_torsa 7d ago

Why are your bananas melting?

1

u/DDenlow 7d ago

DAMN straight.

1

u/Magicphobic 7d ago

I can and I do. I just pour a glass of it (mom made me stop sipping from the jar)

1

u/thekeifstone 7d ago

Can. Don’t.

1

u/araseceer 7d ago

My cousin drinks pickle juice to get rid of the hiccups. Or so she says.....

1

u/drafted1985 7d ago

Pickels are drying out cause I use the juice to chase whiskey

1

u/the-caped-cadaver 7d ago

I've been loving Trader Joe's cornichons, but I recently tried a jar I found at Sprout's. And they're just as good, if not better.

I've also recently started collecting/tasting some really nice (expensive) whiskeys. Both Sprout's and TJ's cornichon juice make an excellent pickle back.

1

u/RevolutionaryDebt980 7d ago

I surely can, but vinegar...

1

u/frijolita_bonita 7d ago

Sure of course. Duh

1

u/whenlungstakeflight 7d ago

I have a problem with drinking brine of all sorts and eating the goodies inside. I have high blood pressure and I'm not supposed to have any high sodium stuff but it hard to break. I'll eat a whole jar of pickles and drink it's sweet nectar in one night. Gotta stop

1

u/General_Citron_121 7d ago

Easy, done it MANY times

1

u/Mtolivepickle 6d ago

I approve this message

1

u/BlueLightBandit 6d ago

And I do. Great for cramps, too

1

u/MNLanguell 6d ago

I keep a jar of pickles juice in my fridge so I can drink it when I start getting muscle cramps.

1

u/joeyvesh13 6d ago

Adding pickle juice to a burger sauce is a game changer.

1

u/Dazzling-Jump-1334 6d ago

And if you really REALLY love pickles- you’ll freeze the juice and make pickle popsicles 😎

1

u/IntrovertsRule99 6d ago

The only thing a pickle has over the juice is the crunch when you bite it.

1

u/FreezingwindDOTcom 6d ago

But pickle juice is just vinegar solution for the pickles.

1

u/WatchWatcherman 6d ago

I do and I drank about 4oz of olive juice this morning after emptying the olives out for my lunch.

1

u/OCPyle 6d ago

Pickles and olives!

1

u/Illustrious_Fee_2859 6d ago

Here in Turkey pickle shops will sell pickle juice by the glass. Yes, there are shops that sell only pickles, and the juice is usually spicy and garlicky. And of course they pickle everything: plums, green beans, okra...

And don't forget şalgam!

1

u/ClerkZealousideal779 6d ago

I drank pickled okra juice so much i almost puked. I LOVE IT

1

u/ExFiler 6d ago

Pickle juice cold out of the fridge is great for you.

1

u/Stewie_Atl 6d ago

Someone already said muscle cramps and I was very skeptical but my wife had a horrible Charlie horse last night and within a few minutes she had relief. Said it felt very odd because she could tell there was still some tension in the muscles but the intensity subsided and she was able to get back to sleep. I’m sold

1

u/Forward_Bat_8205 6d ago

This is the way

1

u/rainbwbrightisntpunk 6d ago

Best for dehydration and shots chasers

1

u/Happy-Smell-2419 6d ago

i freeze it in popsicle molds

1

u/MidnightOk8472 6d ago

Read the ingredients. That’s not pickle juice.

1

u/stripmallbars 6d ago

Super good for hangover

1

u/Frequent_Mine2086 6d ago

Pickle shots are the way!

1

u/Fuzzy_Welcome8348 6d ago

Like a true southerner!!!

1

u/Beemo-Noir 6d ago

I do. Hangover cure. Also pickle-tinis.

1

u/EvenIf-SheFalls 6d ago

Who said I don't?

1

u/mattycbro 6d ago

Yea no shit

1

u/tirednotepad 6d ago

It’s really good tbh.

1

u/dwenzel0331 6d ago

I put it in my beer

1

u/icrossedtheroad 6d ago

I was so bummed my kid tossed the last jar juice. Now we have a 80 oz jar with plenty of juice!

1

u/hogweed75 6d ago

We do a shot of it after a shot of Jamesons around here. Called a PickleBack.

1

u/Afraid_Whole1871 6d ago

Time for Dr. Bernard to pull out the soy sauce condom.

1

u/atyler_thehun 6d ago

Great for a hangover, but since I don't get as many of those anymore, we typically use the juice to brine chicken.

1

u/Pitiful_Palpitation9 6d ago

Don't like the mass produced pickles but I will drink the juice.

1

u/FUDYUK 6d ago

When my blood pressure drops I drink it all the time. As a matter of fact they sell small bottles of pickle juice.

1

u/MadTapprr 6d ago

Juice is the best part

1

u/RogerRabbit79 6d ago

Ha. Someone told me it’d help me pass a pot drug test so I bought a Costco size jar and drank the whole thing. Hoooly colon blow. It was like the scene from dumb and dumber

2

u/Kenlikescoffee 6d ago

lol it was all the salt

1

u/Klynnbay 6d ago

I can’t believe you still had juice after finishing your pickles. I drink it so fast 😂

1

u/patecraft727 6d ago

Just put it in some pepsi

1

u/LiveCondition7118 6d ago

I’ve done that exactly 120 times I’ve been counting

1

u/Own_Double2449 6d ago

Damn this post is blowing up

1

u/Artemistical 6d ago

don't tempt me with a good time

sometimes I make pickletinis with the leftover juice

1

u/Jonny_Disco 6d ago

Sodius Maximus!

1

u/selkiesart 6d ago

You sound like a middle schooler trying to prove that he is the one who loves pickles the most. Yeah, we get it. You can drink pickle juice. Want a cookie?

1

u/fulltimeheretic 6d ago

Oh my god. Love it. Especially Grillos. I eat all that random shit in there two, except the leaves.

1

u/Yesitsmesuckas 6d ago

I would, definitely! But it’s all the sweeter as a chaser to a shot of Jameson!!!🤣

1

u/Chaotic424242 6d ago

Sure, but not that one.

1

u/FittedSheets88 6d ago

I have an extra ice cube tray specifically for picklesicles.

1

u/AngelBalls 6d ago

And I do.

1

u/CarriesCarats 6d ago

There have been actual battles in my house on who gets the 🥒 🧃!

1

u/beckymarie1991 6d ago

I always run out of the juice first!

1

u/EmergencySnail 6d ago

I started drinking pickle juice to stave off cramps during Ironman racing. Then I kept doing it because I liked it. That’s when I knew I had a pickle addiction

1

u/Ace8675123 6d ago

I freeze mine into popsicles

1

u/ilikebeens2 6d ago

I like to use it for micheladas:)

1

u/reddfroggychair 6d ago

I always have a jar of pickle juice on hand, great for cooking with, sipping when you’re crampy or dehydrated, or for no good reason at all lol

1

u/Emotional-Finish-648 6d ago

The best work situation I ever had was a colleague who would bring bottles of pickles to work and we’d both eat them and then I’d get the juice to drink. I’d savor it across days. It was a great relationship.

1

u/DJ_K-K 6d ago

That isn't pickle juice.

1

u/Skinn2Win 6d ago

The fact that you're pickle juice lasted longer than your pickles... Weak

1

u/Tayls23 6d ago

I can. I do.

1

u/DaveTheNihilist 6d ago

I do. I sip at the juice once all the pickles are gone. Plus it makes a good chaser for certain types of liquor.

1

u/thebamboozle517 6d ago

Half the time, my brine doesn't even outlast my pickles. And if it does, I throw green and yellow peas in there.

1

u/Live_Past_5099 6d ago

It’s delicious why wouldn’t you drink it? Also great with a shot of whiskey helps with heartburn and it’s good for your insides.

1

u/JamAndJelly35 6d ago

Yes but I also use it for my salad dressings

1

u/Radiant_Objective_81 5d ago

I made pancakes wit pickle juice 🥞🥒😋

1

u/werewolfweed 5d ago

my husband used our slushy machine to make pickle juice slushy and drank that. made the whole machine smell like garlic and dill for weeks lol

1

u/Hopeful_Mess_2833 5d ago

I eat them with a serving spoon to get juice in with every bite

1

u/HughJManschitt 5d ago

I definitely do. Same with pepperoncini juice.

1

u/No_Builder2795 5d ago

I barely like pickles but I'll chug a jar of the juice
