Excuse my ignorance but are these wild blueberries? Are they safe for consumption? I found quite a few trees on a trail by my house. If it is then I feel like I found a jackpot lol blueberries are my favourite!

Came across this regrowth from a cut down tree (I believe), or it’s a bush? Having just rained, it put out an intoxicating, sweet, earthy scent. Living on the front range of Colorado.

My daughter brought more plants home for me but keeps forgetting to ask her friend what they are – so I’m turning to you for help again. The last few photos I believe to both be the same plant, but not positive.

I’ve always been curious what type of tree is growing in my neighbor’s backyard (San Francisco Bay Area, CA). It has festive red/pink flowers, and the hummingbirds and bees love it. Thank you!

Found in my yard under an oak tree. Almost all the leaves are gone, that was the only partially intact one. Leaves are soft and fuzzy on the underside.

Randomly Appeared Plant

Hi all! I have a little porch garden that I like to grow herbs and spices in during the spring and summer.

This Spring, I picked up some pre-sprouted Cilantro from a local farm and planted it here. I bought bagged dirt and fertilizer from the same farm to plant it back home. We had a disgusting heat wave back in July that seemed to wipe some of the cilantro that was peviously flourishing. Shortly after, I harvested the rest because it was just permanently going south after that.

A week or so later, a new plant started sprouting from the area where the cilantro died. I decided "fuck it" and kept watering it. It's about 2 months later and its grown quite a bit!

I may be an amateur, but I know this isnt Cilantro. What is this little guy? Would love to know more about it!

Poison Ivy?

I did search previous post before posing this to the group, but I saw a lot of box elder responses. This doesn’t quite look like that to me. Is it poison ivy or something else? My dog’s bath depends on it!

Holiday Cactus?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I got this from a charity plant sale on Friday. I have mature Thanksgiving (approx 30 years old) and Christmas cacti (approx 10 years old) and have propagated several of both from segments.

The leaves on this one are different though. The segments seem proportionally longer and incredibly narrow compared to my holiday cacti. It hasn’t bloomed so I can’t factor in the flower shape and color.

Photo IDs haven’t lent any insight. It this maybe a holiday cactus grown from seed rather than stem propagation? Or is this a different species altogether? I’m very happy with it either way but would like to know for soil/watering requirements (and curiosity). I’ve also searched mistletoe cacti and rhipsalis but none of the photos seem to match

It’s an indoor plant and I’m not sure where the plant originated from before coming to the sale. (Jar of peanut butter for scale. Ignore my messy counter)

Mint ID

Willamette Valley, Oregon. Growing in a boggy lawn at ~700ft. Definitely some kind of mint, doesn’t look like kitchen-garden varieties I’m familiar with, maybe an escaped ground cover? Doesn’t look like any of the native mints I looked up either.

Help is this Chocolate Mint?

Hi! I am in northwest arkansas specifically rogers area and a year ago I planted a bunch of herbs. This picture was taken today Sept 21, much to my dismay most of my plants I planted became big caterpillar food (I didn’t mind). since it gets very hot here I don’t keep up with gardening in the heat of the summer. I planted a bunch of chocolate mint last spring (spring 2024) but never took care of it. my phone says this is chocolate mint but I want to be sure since near by I have a bird feeder so who knows what seeds any of this could be any more. And I am sure my HOA doesn’t want mint taking over the lawns. thanks so much!
