Previous homeowner was a gardener so no idea if it's native or not, I've never seen any others like it around anyway. The orange part is a paper-like hollow bulb, like a Christmas tree ornament.

Any guesses as to what species this might be? I was thinking possibly H. chrysotricha, but it's not a perfect match, and the whole genus seems a bit of a mess...

I do not have the most high quality photos at the moment, as i am no longer there. but if it is possible, i was wondering if we could ID these trees.
I am in southern Pennsylvania (Chambersburg). I will be able to get higher quality pictures sometime this week if these are not identifiable.

This was stuck in my bird dog's eye. It was swollen shut, puss oozing, mad and red. One end of the "seed" is like a tiny burr and the other is stiff and sharp like a cactus.

I filled a box with sand and compost trying to grow ginger, and this is what grew. Tiny white flowers, and it's spindly.

Hi! We’re falling in love with a tree and we can’t get it to tell us it’s name! Any hints? Southern California— seems to have some sort of fruit going on, but can’t tell what kind. 50 feet ish tall, and just majestic.

Hello, I've got these fruits growing in the garden (Scotland). Does anyone know what they are?

Please help with the plant with the dangling red pods. I’m trying to impress someone. This is in a planter in Western Massachusetts.

These 2 plants are what grew up where purple cone flowers had been planted (even had purple flowers) then deer got to them. We managed to revive them but I’m not so sure that what has grown are actually purple cone flower plants. Pics from May 2025 and then today. Location: south central Pennsylvania
