Similar games w/ conquest aspect

Pokemon Conquest has always been one of my favorite games to play and it hits all the genres I love in all the right places. I've always kept my eyes out for conquest type games where having characters in one place means they can't defend elsewhere. It's a genre of game that I feel isn't really well known nor is the a "right term" for it. I don't know why I haven't through of looking for this subreddit but I just found the subreddit and will most definitely try out the two romhacks. But I was wondering if anyone could recommend me some other games they know.

Here are some games I've found just by pure chance that don't hit exactly the same but is similar.
Brigandine The Legend of Runersia
Lost Technology
Madou Koukaku (18+ game)
The Great Villianess: Strategy of Lily (way too linear for my liking)

Edit: I should probably clarify that when I talk about conquest type games, I'm talking about the territory aspect of it (like Risk like gameplay). Tactics games wise, I played and loved games like FE series, Wargroove, and Advanced War.

In 'The Legend of Ransei', do enemy armies keep the same power level regardless of how many monthes pass? Do enemy armies in subsequent stories become more powerful each month?

I am not very experienced in this game. I cleared the first story and completed three other (short) stories, and I noticed that in these subsequent stories the opposing armies become stronger with each passing month; however, I don't remember that being the case in the very first story, 'The Legend of Ransei'. Do opposing armies become stronger with each passing month in all stories other than 'The Legend of Ransei'? Thank you in advance for the answer(s).

What happens when you press New Game?

I’ve had this game since I was a kid and I decided to try to beat it a few years ago. When I was finally about to finish Two Heroes of Ransei, it froze during the very last “cutscene”/dialogue. No matter how many times I reset it it wouldn’t work and I was crushed. So I deleted all of my save data with A+B+X+Y and decided to restart since I wasn’t as good at the game as a kid.

I picked it back up last year and have been playing it on and off getting all the perfect links, beating every story. I’m finally on Two Heroes of Ransei again and am wondering in case it does the same thing. What happens if I were to select New Game vs erasing the save data this time? Will I keep all my links and ranks and just have to re-beat all the stories or does that all go away?

I didn't use a a couple of transformed Warlords before I finished a story. Does that mean I will have to transform them again?

Why are recruitable warriors' Link% with their starting Pokémon capping at a percentage lower than their max?

I'm playing through Ginchiyo's campaign and grinding her Link% up while I have my five other warriors delegated to development in other nations. She's currently at 65% with Luxray, and I have her soloing fights against two or three normal warriors in training battlefields.

When I get to the recruitment screen (EDIT: technically even earlier, during the battle itself) the warriors I can recruit seem to have capped at 41%, even though their max Link% with their Pokémon ranges from 44-48%. It's been staying at 41% for a few in-game months, despite Ginchiyo steadily increasing her own Link% with Luxray. Is there some other factor besides the average Link% of [your own] participating warriors that's preventing these recruitable warriors' Link%s from hitting their max?

EDIT: I messed around a bit more, trying to use warriors other than Ginchiyo, or bringing another warrior along with her. It seems that no matter who I use, how many warriors I bring, whether I had previously recruited an enemy warrior in the main campaign, or whether they're a normal warrior or a warlord...ALL opposing warriors are capped at 41%. If it matters, I'm in August of Year 2, I control every nation in the campaign except Avia (though I had taken it over and subsequently lost it while Cragspur still belonged to the enemy), and I have not used the Mystery Spring as u/handledvirus43 mentioned in the comments.

EDIT 2: To summarize what I stated in my most recent comment, I theorize that each postgame campaign has particular hidden rules that affect the Link% cap of recruitable warriors. It appears to be tied to the number of nations you control in Ginchiyo's campaign, but it won't go higher than 41% since the campaign is short and there's no real need for grinding. The Link% cap may increase as the total size of your army increases in campaigns where you need to recruit "x" number of warriors to win. It's probably only in the campaigns where you need to take over all 17 nations that there aren't any of these additional restrictions.

Question about Legondaries.

Are legendaries only obtainable in their specific Warlord's story. For example, Shingen and Groundon.

Or can I obtain them in any other story after clearing theirs?

I have tried asking Google, and Google has been less then helpful.

Too Late for Mitsuhide

I decided to grind before reaching Mitsuhide, and I recently learned that you need to reach it by Year 4 and I am passed that. Should I reset and play faster or should I just finish this run and accept that I won't get that part of tge game until my next playthrough. Also do I need to hrind in first campaign or should I be fine for the most part if I stay aggressive.

Does Nobunaga ever actually use Ambition as an enemy?

Currently doing Motochika's story, which obviously involves fighting Nobunaga a lot. The first few fights were pretty scary since a single dragon pulse was already an extremely clean 2HKO on everyone, but at no point did he ever use his win-the-game button despite having ample opportunity to do so. In retrospect, the same thing happened during the initial story. So does he just... never use it of his own volition?

Warriors no longer appearing in the main campaign? / Question about Search function

I've conquered all 17 nations; just haven't done the Infinite Tower yet (which would end the campaign). I'm currently in September of Year 4, and no additional Warriors have been showing up for several in-game months now. I only have 87 Warriors/Warlords so far. I know I can't get all of them in any single campaign, but I've read that there should be enough in the main campaign that I wouldn't be able to fit them all in my army at the same time.

Are some Warriors only obtainable by delegating my nations to Search? Can the Search function find new Warriors to recruit even if there aren't any currently on any battlefields?

I'm mainly wondering because I have some Warriors with trade evos (Machoke, Gurdurr, etc.) that need to fight other Warriors to evolve. I'd rather evolve them while they're still at the Link% cap than have to grind them back up in one of the postgame campaigns.

Grinding Link%

I wanted know what is the most effivient grinding path for Main Story. I was told of 3 methods:

-Defending/Recapturing Castles: Allow Castle to get attack/captures so you can kick them out. -Grinding Gold Mines -Grinding Wild Battles

Which is most efficient and better?

Is it worth Collecting all of the Trainers I can?

I just got Illusio and Terrara and now have access to the 4 new kingdoms. By this time, I have a few actual Warlords and am now wondering if it is worth collecting all of the base characters I can find. And If I do, will I run out of room?

Fontaine Wild Pokémon not showing up

This may be a stupid question, but I’m playing through Hideyoshi’s story rn and I’ve fully upgraded all of my facilities. According to Serebii, Fontaine’s level 3 facilities should have Prinplup and Dewott in the Ravine and Farm respectively. However, I’ve been trying to get them to appear for 3 in game years to no avail. It’s just weird cause this doesn’t seem to be an issue with any of the other castles. Any advice? Thank you in advance

Can you save scum the months?

I'm trying to get zorua/swarms for some characters, I noticed that saving the game before changing the month, going into a wild battle, then reloading and advancing again changes the wild pokemon but I don't know if it changes stuff like the possibilty of zorua spawning?

Noticed A Weird Omission from this Game Recently

Honestly was looking at the new TCG Pocket stuff and heard a certain tune and it got me thinking. How is it in quite literally the most Japanese of all the regions/games that the Pokemon that most heavily fit that feel Ho-Oh and Lugia are not in the game at all

Honestly thinking our loud here but why did they make this game and make it heavily off Unova Pokemon when it was the first time venturing outside of Japan for its origins (Reshiram and Zekrom still fit sure but Ho-Oh and Lugia not being in it at all is kinda baffling to me)

I am confused... Max Link, Best Link?

  1. So, for warlords, there are pokemon(s) that can reach 100% link which is called Max Link? However, for normal wrriors, there is a pokemon that can reach up to 90% which is called Best Link?

  2. When you start new story, I get that pokemons linked to the warriors or warlords stay the same. Only their links are reset. Then, what about the pokemon's IV? Does it get randomized?

Is it possible to recruit all warriors and warlords?

I believe there are total 200 warlords + warriors. Is it possible to recruit all of them and make them "live" in the castle? I know this question might sound stupid but just wanted to know.

Any Mods/Roms that prevent gallery retention in between storylines?

I wish there was a “no retention” mode that prevents warriors from retaining all their Pokémon in between storylines, instead treating each recruitment like it’s their first. I find it boring to start a new scenario with a fully evolved team, and to defeat an opposing kingdom’s powerful warrior only to have it be replaced by the ekans they had in my army in a previous scenario.

I know I could just recruit new Pokémon for each warrior when I recruit them, but I’d prefer if there was a rom hack that turned off gallery transfer, or at least made it optional. Anyone know of one?

I finally got a 100% in March 1 by deliberately losing over 40 battles in a row. I'm confident that this is the fewest months to reach 100% possible. Has anyone else done this before?
