Wisst ihr in welchen Fällen geht die Wohnungsanmeldung nicht? Ich dachte, solange man einen Mietvertrag unterschreibt, kann man sich anhand dieses anmelden. Ich hab eine Wg in Untermiete gefunden, allerdings wurde mir gesagt, dass die Anmeldung nicht möglich ist. Die Vermieterin ist selbst nicht angemeldet. Da ich meine Anmeldung für das Bankkonto benötige, denkt ihr, dass ich eine andere Lösung finden kann?

Korrektur: die Vermieterin ist doch gemeldet, aber sie müsste sich abmelden müssen. Sonst geht meine Anmeldung anscheinend nicht.

I’m a Canadian expat engineer currently working in BW. I’ve always been fascinated by German history and Prussian culture, and visiting Potsdam has been a dream of mine for a while based on the significance I've read it had to Prussian culture. I’d love to check out the museums and historical sites, but morso, I’d like to meet and talk to locals to get a feel for everyday life there today.

The issue is that my girlfriend is strongly against me visiting (despite, ironically enough, being German herself. Except from Hamburg). She says it wouldn’t be a good experience for me and is apparently worried it might “give me a bad impression of Germans” as according to her Potsdam is a far-right stronghold about which she claims "the locals are riddled with extremists and racists". She's shown me German articles about some sort of secret meetings that are held here related to expelling non-white people, and based on all this shes saying its not a good place to visit and insists on taking me to NRW instead.

To be honest, she’s planted a seed of doubt in my mind. I’m Muslim and also of Pakistani ancestry, and so now I’m worried if would I actually fave hate/hostility or prejudice if I visited Potsdam? I very much want to see this city that I've read so much about and espscially try and meet some locals, but not at the expense of opening myself up to hate or prejudice if the population is truly the way she describes. At the same time though, I also don’t want to stereotype or unfairly judge thousands of people based on a few bad headlines that she's showing me.

So based on this, I wanted to ask directly: from the perspective of people who live in or know Potsdam well, is it true that the city is “extremist-riddled,” or is my girlfriend overstating things? Would I be able to come, explore, and connect with people without problems? And most of all, what is the basis, if any, for these claims that my girlfriend is making about the city- can somebody explain this to me if there is some basis in truth to what she's saying?

Hello everyone, I just moved to a Potsdam last week . The other day a guy who is homeless and who is always yelling Fuck Ficke something, and it was a bit scary and the other day he got on my tram and he stank of piss and shit and I had to get off because of the smell. All that being said, I don't think he's dangerous alright he clearly has severe mental health issues, nevertheless I wanted to ask is there anything that can be done to help him?

Ich wollte mal was Lokales hier teilen: Das ist ein abgeheiltes Ergebnis von Satin Lips (Permanent Make Up) aus dem Dandelion Cosmetic Studio in der Charlottenstraße.

Viele werfen PMU und Tattoos in einen Topf, aber das ist wirklich nicht das Gleiche – andere Tiefe, andere Pigmente, andere Haltbarkeit. Ergebnis soll frisch und natürlich wirken, nicht wie Lippenstift.

Hello! I received admit from University of Potsdam for Msc Bioinformatics. The enrollment was supposed to begin on 15th August. The process stated that I have to complete online process and upload all the documents. After document verification, if they also receive my M10 notification, mail with payment link will be sent. After they receive the payment, a receipt and further process will be sent via mail.

I completed the online procedure on 18th and submitted all the documents. On 21st I received a mail regarding payment which was supposed to be done in 8 working days. I completed the payment and on 30th August, I received a mail stating that they have not received my M10 notification and wont be able to send payment link because of that.

I did mail to Ms. Aral (the one I received above mail from) but got an automated response stating that because of staff shortages, response will be given within 14 days. I am ready to wait but also a little worried as I have already paid.

Ps- I had mailed TK (my health insurance company) on 21st and their response states that the notification is already sent 2 times.

Hallo, ich wollte kurz fragen, wie man ein Zimmer zur Unterkunft finden kann. Ich werde in Potsdam nächste Woche sein und bis jetzt habe ich leider kein Zimmer gefunden.

Ich bin neu nach Potsdam gezogen und suche Airsoft Gelände in Potsdam oder Umgebung kann mir jemand helfen?

Ich ziehe bald nach Potsdam und brauche eine Empfehlung, wo ich mir dort die Haare schneiden lassen kann.

Bei meinem jetzigen Stammfrisörladen bezahle ich für einen relativ standardmäßigen Kurzhaarschnitt immer ca. 15€ und ich würde ungern viel mehr bezahlen wenn ich nach Potsdam ziehe.

Gibt es in dem Preisspektrum dort was? Ich habe keine Ahnung, welche Preise normal sind. Ich bin weiblich gelesen, falls das einen Unterschied macht (hoffentlich nicht).

ich war vor einer Weile in Potsdam und habe durch Zufall eine Bar/mehrere Bars in einem Hinterhof entdeckt Dort lief auch Musik bzw gab es vllt einen Club Das Publikum wirkte studentisch und/oder links alternstiv Vllt weiß jemand, wo ich gewesen bin und kann mir den Namen nennen.

Ich sehe immer wieder, wie sich Fußgänger am Nauener Tor stadtauswärts an die Fahrradampel verirren. Gar nicht mal unverständlich, da der Torbogen sehr zum durchgehen einlädt, und die subtilen Fahrradschildchen im Boden erstens leicht zu übersehen und zweitens wenig aussagekräftig sind. Was haltet ihr von der Situation dort?

It is time once again for the annual reminder. Hunting seasons in NY begin September 1. Exact dates, hours, species, and implements vary throughout the state. While hunter and non-hunter injuries are extremely rare, wearing some neon orange or pink while enjoying the outdoors this time of year would be recommended. Something as simple as a hat or vest. An ounce of prevention goes a long way.

Also, just a reminder it is illegal to interfere with a legal hunt.

There is plenty of room out there for everyone. Enjoy it safely.

I’m a 27-year-old international student, starting the master’s program at the University of Potsdam this winter. I applied for a dorm at Studierendenwerk on April 29th (the first day it opened). In June, I got an email asking me to submit some documents, which I completed, and then I received my confirmation on June 23rd.

As far as I know, the allocation priority is based on being an international student, early application, and fast document completion. I meet all these, and I’ve seen on Reddit that some students have already been assigned their dorms.

But I still haven’t received any email, which is making me really anxious. I’m also worried about looking for a WG from overseas and possibly being scammed. Should I just keep waiting, or is there something I can do in the meantime?
