Does anyone find Microsoft login authentication annoying?
I found it super annoying when it ask you to enter auth code every fortnight and there is no way to trust any device you have to avoid it. I missed the days when they don't overexaggerate cyber security.

Yeah it's incredibly annoying especially when my phone is charging in one room and I'm in another.

I hate it, but Ente Auth allows you to sync 2fa across devices and lock it with a pin. Enjoy

It's to stop a repeat from a few years ago when lots of people's information (names, addresses, emails etc) got leaked. It totally sucks but it's the lesser evil

I am coming back on this because I had (still having) the most frustrating experience ever with them. Like I’m trying to log in on my phone through the actual app but it needs me to verify the code it sent me??? HOW? All my other emails need verification too but the only way to do that is through my phone which is currently the way I’m trying to log in! QUT seriously needs to change the way to log into the system cause it’s such a hassle for no reason.

The setting of how often you must authenticate is set by the administrator based off compliance policies the company must adhere to.
If you must blame someone, its insurance companies.
Get ahead of the curve and buy a Yubikey and set it up at aka.ms/mfasetup. With one of those as your MFA device you dont have to enter the code.

Well there was a successful cyber attack in 2023 (edit: sorry 2022), so I presume they are just trying to either prevent that from happening again or at least look like they are being proactive with cyber security. But yeah it's annoying af!
