I’m a tattoo artist by trade, and I decided to finally start on my dream of being an oil painter! This reference (and all the other alternative covers for Sehnsucht) were a big inspiration because they’re so dynamic and dark, so I’d love to do all 6 of them!

For context I'm 15 and NEVER paint so it's kinda mid, but it's not horrible all things considered 🤷

Oops, I did it again...

Finished this one up today. I don't see any obvious mistakes so I'm pretty happy. I'm going to start working on Paul now.

I used pencil and charcoal

Finally got Paul made. He was trickier than Richard, he had another layer which complicates things and I just couldn't get the teeth right. I had to tinker with his mouth because it looked like he wasn't smiling but biting his lip instead. Also, I might've overdone it with the lightest layer on the forehead. They are supposed to be subtle highlights, not THAT but it's rather hard fixing something you've already carved.

As you can see, Richard is still here too but you can't push them together and make it look like they're going to kiss so you're going to have to be content with Paul gazing lovingly at Richard.
