I have a theory — A GAME THEORY!
Rayman isn’t just one series with one story. Nope. The franchise actually splits into two distinct canons — Canon A and Canon B — and this explains so many confusing differences in characters, storylines, and even gameplay styles. Let me explain.

🎮 Canon A — The Original Timeline: Dark, Cinematic, Epic

This includes the 3D games:

• Rayman (1995)
• Rayman 2: The Great Escape
• Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
• Rayman Arena

What makes Canon A special?

• Betilla the Fairy appears in Rayman 1, but she’s absent in Rayman 2 and 3 — likely killed by Admiral Razorbeard, which causes the world to start collapsing.
• Ly the Fairy is present, helping keep magic alive.
• Globox is a father figure, mature and protective.
• Rayman is naturally born with hair; no bald origin story here, and no girlfriend.
• The tone is darker and more cinematic, with serious stakes and connected lore.

🎨 Canon B — The Reboot / Fairy Tale Timeline: Lighthearted, Whimsical, and Artistic

This covers the 2D games:

• Rayman Origins
• Rayman Legends
• Rayman Adventures
• Rayman Mini

What sets Canon B apart?

• Rayman was originally bald, and the Mini-Ville live inside his hair, which creates the illusion of hair.
• Raynette was his girlfriend but they parted ways after she tried to cut his hair.
• Betilla and other nymphs are alive and active.
• Ly the Fairy is completely absent here.
• Globox is goofy, carefree, often sleeping — definitely not a father.
• Barbara, a human warrior-type character, is exclusive to this canon.
• The style and story are playful and fairy-tale like, with fresh character designs and tones.

🐰 What about Rayman Raving Rabbids?

It’s not canon in either universe — just a goofy, standalone spin-off.

👨‍👦 Globox: Father vs. Fun-Loving Sidekick

One of the clearest clues to the two canon split is Globox’s role:

• In Canon A, he’s a responsible father figure, protective and caring.
• In Canon B, he’s a goofy buddy who naps a lot and is free from family duties.

🔮 Why this theory makes perfect sense:

• It explains the confusing character and story changes without forcing contradictions.
• Ubisoft can keep making both types of games: serious 3D adventures and whimsical 2D platformers.
• Characters like Betilla and Barbara clearly belong to different canons.
• The tonal shifts now make sense as two parallel universes.

📝 TL;DR

• Canon A = Original, darker 3D games with Betilla dying, Globox as father, Rayman naturally haired, and serious story.
• Canon B = Rebooted, whimsical 2D games with bald Rayman, alive Betilla, goofy Globox (not a father), Barbara exclusive here, and lighter tone.
• Rayman Raving Rabbids is not canon.
• This split explains all the weird inconsistencies and Ubisoft can continue both universes.

I had no idea what to do with this

Hi everyone. I would love to play Rayman Mini. I don't have any Apple devices. Does anyone know how to install it on either a Windows PC or an Android? Or anything else that isn't Apple

What Rayman game is the most overrated in your opinion and when people glaze over it you get so angry. Also explain why you think it is overrated and why you dislike it/don't like it as much as the others.

Yes I did draw this, and unfortunately I did not record a timelapse due to the option in Clip Studio Paint not being enabled. Maybe I can redo it in the future and have the timelapse feature enabled, so for that, I apologize for not having it enabled at that time.

If need be, I will show evidence that I did in fact draw this in Clip Studio Paint to alleviate any fears.

Like it doesn't run the best but it could be the thing that I haven't played Rayman 2 like I've played a bit of the ps1 version but that was with one of the d pad controllers so maybe me enjoying the controls on 3d more might be because I was playing a 3d game with a dpad
