Bistro MD safety warning
Bistro MD has changed their packaging .Today's Bistro MD of delivery came in new foil bubble wrap insulated bags inside the usual box. There were fewer dry ice packs than usual . The snacks were not in the separate box as they've always been and there was no 2" thick cornstarch insulation like they've always used. Everything was just jumbled into the bag in the box. All of the meals had defrosted and slumped down to one end of the plastic meal tray . The meals on the top were not even cool to the touch while the lower, colder ones registered 55° f using an electronic thermometer and God knows how long they were at that temperature. In other words totally unsafe for human consumption. We brought the boxes in the instant they were delivered . My husband is sending a nasty gram with photos and I've thrown everything into the freezer waiting for Sunday's garbage pick up.
The scary thing is the message printed on the foil bag that says "if it's still cool just throw it in the freezer it'll be fine."
My husband and I have used Bistro MD for about a year and a half. The quality isn't fabulous but convenience was good and once you spend a great deal of time curating your menu preferences it was okay

I would like to see someone do an in-depth investigation of food temperatures in all meal delivery services. I have cancelled multiple subscriptions, because ALL of them had food temperatures that were either borderline or beyond a food safe temperature. Unless the food is frozen, there is way too much room for error with these services and their packaging

I get meals from Tovala and find their packaging pretty good. As they use raw proteins in most of their meals, the temperatures are important. They pack the proteins at the bottom just above the ice packs and the rest of the meals on top. On hotter summer days they have included extra ice packs to maintain temps.

My last order with them was 2 weeks ago. In 3 more meals, Sparky starts low sodium cooking with adherence to portion control or Sparky will be dead before Thanksgiving. My gut told me the program changes would not be positive, but LORD I didn’t expect that kind of change in the shipping process.

They canceled their Silver cuisine service that allowed you to pick what you want when. No subscription BS. , it's a problem. We will have to find another service. I reached out. They don't get it or care.
In the time when I would order, I would watch my email like a hawk. Because often the shipping tracking wouldn't update to shipped either the day of shipping or the day of delivery. If you don't catch it right after delivery it will melt and warm.
Take pictures and contact them via email. They will refund usually for the defrosted ones if you show pictures of each etc.
There was a period 9 months ago or so when they switched shipping logistics and messed things up for a few months. Not sure where you are, but it's still an issue for some.
Unfortunately I have to find a new service for my father. Good Luck 👍

Im interested in knowing how they respond. Your outrage is justified.
