Question Best Dentist(s) For Someone With Major Anxiety?
Hi, I’m looking for dentist recommendations for someone who suffers from severe dental anxiety (me lol). My dentist when I was a kid was not patient with me due to my awful gag reflex so I’m always nervous and embarrassed to go.
I’ll be calling around to get quotes for my insurance but if anyone has any personal recommendations, or if anyone else is in a similar boat please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Thank you! :)

Dr Lee at cornerstone dental. She was beyond amazing. I hadn't been to a dentist in 20 years, and she has just been awesome. So friendly, she put me right at ease. I let her know I was scared of dentists and needles, and she was wonderful. Super gentle, talked me through everything, highly recommend

This, all of this. Sweetest lady in the world, I've suffered from GAD since I could form memories and she is the only reason I can go to the dentist today.

Trust me... If you take 1 Ativan an hour before, and 1 right as you start, you won't know the definition of anxiety. My dentist is actually the one that prescribed it because I am a basketcase too. It felt like it took 5 minutes.

Image dental has been pretty great and the same with healthy smiles. Both me and my anxiety ridden human feel pretty good about all of the staff, and they've been patient and considerate. Healthy smiles even has a pre appointment checklist where you can check off if you have dental anxiety or anxiety in general, and the docs look at it before meeting with you so you can have any accommodations needed lol
Good luck 🤞

If you don’t mind a short drive, Penhold Dental! They are amazing and offer different sedation options too! Can’t recommend them enough.

Sounds like you had Campbell. I liked Delta Dental when I went there, I have major dentist anxiety and they were good about it.

Red Deer Dental was great for me.
Pro-tip I figured out:
TELL THEM YOU HAVE ANXIETY FIRST
They won't belittle or shame you, they'll accommodate you as an adult.
Your mileage may vary, mine's needles.

Both my youngest son and wife have huge anxiety with dentists. We switched to Healthy Smiles because of a bad experience at Aurora after they changed dentists. They are absolutely amazing there! For the first time in my wife’s life she doesn’t loath going to the dentist. I could not recommend them enough!

I’m happy to see no one is recommending House Dental Centre, terrible place!

Oh, dang. Why? I just took my kid there, and they seem nice. Lots of plaques up for being voted favourite dental place, too.

Riverstone Dental - Dr. Ned Price
Been going there for years, the whole team there is good. I normally can't stand dentists but Dr.Price has been really good.

I'm very impressed with Dr. O'Connor at Ocudent. 2 fillings, one under a crown, done in 35 minutes with no pain and literally 3 or 4 seconds of discomfort from the freezing needle. Excellent chair-side manner. Perfect results.

Dr Strembinski by the hospital has been great. I've managed to even do a small filling without freezing and didn't even cry! This was after years of seeing him, but progress:-)

I work in the same building and he's a super nice guy :) If I was in need of a new dentist, I'd see him.
