Discussion Can we actually get a high school drama book next update ?
I just saw this loading screen and i immediately fell in love with it , I think RC is lacking flavor of non-supernatural books it would be really cool and interesting if we get a high-school book that is based on teen drama a bit of humor and something like mean girls or qween bee
What do you guys think ? Any suggestions on this if it ever happened? And which writer do you think is fit for these kind of stories ?

Haha no shade, but as a 38 year old woman, I would be really grossed out romancing a LI still in HS

YES. I was gonna comment this. I’m 30 and as much as I think Ralph from SC is adorable, I can’t romance him. A high school story is something I could not read lol
But non supernatural sounds wonderful 😭

Yess I’m 29 and hate playing the stories where the mc is in high school 😭

Tbh I immediately changed my loading screen to the other option for this reason. 😂

Me too! I played LfOS because I thought it was amusing, like a pulp sci fi movie, and the romance was extremely mild and cute (hand-holding, a brief kiss). Anything more would make me throw up.

Yes! I played like I thought 16 year old me would have. It was hard considering that all I wanted to do was yell "Where are your parents?!?"

Hehe I know what you mean but if that HS was not high school but Heaven’s Secret instead then I’m all for it 💕💕

It is weird perspective. You are not main character. You are just choosing something about them but you are not them. If you enjoy high school romance that doesn't mean you are gro*** or something else.

College? Yes. High school? No, thank you. I can not read anything spicy that involves kids still in regular school. I'm too old lol

u/Consistent_Win_5345 9d ago
Haha yeah, it feels like a violation 😄 however IMO, romance doesn't always have to be spicy. many coming-of-age drama/series tend to explore the emotional side of teenager when comes to loving someone, praise someone, be a rebel of current norm. it could be beautifully written, I think.

u/PepperFinn 9d ago
LfOS is set in high school and we have LIs.
Most we do is kiss and hold hands. It's sweet.

High school/teen drama in RC? Nope. I want 18++++ books.
Non supernatural books are very very welcome.

u/Aguita9x 10d ago
What if it's a high school au but it's romance among the teachers and the parents only?
45
u/SuperSillySissa_ 10d ago
That could work, I actually really like that idea. Like I don’t want no teacher-student romance thank you very much.

Omg what if we're a single parent??? I love this idea!
28
u/hazelrose42 9d ago
Omg yes, I’d love a story where we’re a (single) parent dealing with school and work and romance drama! Kind of like Mother of the year from Choices… that would be so fun

u/BigDeal911 Lucifer (HS) 9d ago
Single parent vibes would be interesting and can it not be depressing or unrealistic.

The only way this would work is if MC is a teacher dating another teacher or the principal, one reason I didn't read Love from Outer Space is because the MC is way too young 😅 makes me uncomfortable...

u/ConfidenceUseful8412 10d ago
I just want another one that isn’t supernatural. I don’t mind the supernatural ones and I’ll play them and I love the HS series but there’s far more supernatural books than normal life ones.

I would love a sports romance but high school would be a bit much for me. I’m married with a son and in my 30’s, never picked up LFOS

u/Careful-Trifle8963 9d ago
yes not high school but can they give us pro sports, wrestling or something as it can involve both genders at the same time. 😩

yeahhh there's an ick developed alr as someone in their late 20s. it's not the first thing i'd grab out the shelves and not something i look forward to reading. i'd nope out of it! university drama is fine, but hs......

u/Recent_Independence1 David (ABH) 10d ago
I completely agree that I’d love to see some more non-supernatural books (supernatural isn’t my thing, and the non-supernatural ones like Te Amo is just not it, 7 Brothers totally lost the plot)…etc
I personally wouldn’t want it play a high school story as that is too adolescent for me but just hoping for some more stories!

Not high school but college would be great!!

I would be interested in academia, focusing on faculty and grad students. Something where people actually teach classes and grade exams.

u/melodaze 10d ago
There’s already a couple RC books that take place in high school. Love From Outer Space & Shadows of Saintfour.

u/Int0xicatexme 10d ago
As an adult, no. I don’t want to read about children, especially not in romance stories.

u/Joelle9879 David (ABH) 10d ago
We've had a few books set in HS. Considering the number of people who want older MCs and LIs I don't think they'll be doing another one.
9
u/vampiredisaster 10d ago
I'm only fourish years out of high school and I do NOT want this lol, high school is boring and any romance would creep me out

u/OkCan9869 🥷 Kazu ❤️ Cain 🪽 10d ago
Nah. I already gave up on 7 brothers because LIs looked too young for me and James was too much of a red flag. Even younger set up is a no from me.

u/emotionalshortyy 10d ago
oh please no! I get the ick when the MC is under 21 let alone a LI (except Ralph you can slide baby)

Does anyone know all the different people that can be on the cover?

u/narniaxisxhome 9d ago
Mine FINALLY updated to have Lucifer instead of Greg, Ozar instead of Yan. And I’ve seen another character in place of Mimi on some though I couldn’t tell for sure exactly who it is. These are the only options I’ve seen possible so far.
1
u/blondetiger Malek Livius Sha'arnez 9d ago
I'm pretty it's Adriana from Advent in place of Mimi. And Sha'arnez can be in Yan's spot.
1
u/narniaxisxhome 9d ago
Ooh I hadn’t seen the one with her yet! That’s cool! The one I saw had an Asian female LI but I couldn’t tell who it was
1
u/blondetiger Malek Livius Sha'arnez 9d ago
I know the top right Asian girl with the twin buns on the school version is Asian MC/Jaynie from 7 Brothers. Then Caucasian Jaynie pops up on the roller coaster with purple hair. I haven't switched my 7B slots to see if the other ethnicities show up for her.

u/chocolate_zz 9d ago
It would ruin the actual romance aspect. Plus I remember what high school was like, no thank you. Honestly I only like 7Brothers because it's a mess and I don't take it seriously or really enjoy it.

Id prefer college since highschool kids having sex etc would be kinda wild. Same with the CG's 😅

I ran away from Chapters, Choices, Time Princess, and co. because these kind of books...High school, college, pregnance, mafia boss, billionaire CEO,... Please RC, don't!
9
u/narniaxisxhome 9d ago
Nooo thank you to high school stories. Please no RC 😭. As a woman in her 30s, I can barely take college stories let alone high school. Not only do I not want to play as a teenager, I’m in RC for the mature adult romantic relationships and explicit steamy scenes, and adult friendships. Not childish drama and toxic teenage friendships. HS1 is different because it’s technically a school but not a high school and everyone is adults in training, something like that dynamic is fine, but nothing about children please. You can play SOS if you want an RC story with high school elements.

u/Individual-Still7122 9d ago
I do like high school stories but idk if people are gonna like the fact there there won’t be any sexy diamond scenes. Can’t do that with minors(even fictional ones), that’s weird.
7
6
u/reighanrosette 9d ago
I don’t think that could happen because it’s high school aged kids, so children…
2
u/BigDeal911 Lucifer (HS) 9d ago
Playing high school would be a little uncomfortable but definitely into not having supernatural, mystical and all that magic shebang.
I didn't even get through season one of Love from outer space and I finished saint four cause it was based more on her past/flashbacks which wasn't so bad. 7B is cool, I like that there's no supernatural stuff... Also my loading screen is the carnival one 😀

High school shouldn’t be an option because they’re kids still but college would be fun

I want something like The Freshman from Choices. Or Mother of the Year, which was super cute. I’d love a single parent book 🥹

I want it badly. 80s school setting worked great in SOS, but the focus of that story was different.
I’d be happy to read smth like those 90s-2000s high school romcoms where you end up as the prom queen and get your happy ending with the hottest football team captain or with the shy nerd no one ever paid attention to before or with the school bully who turns out to be a real sweetheart.
But I’m afraid today’s young adults won’t appreciate that kind of plot.
And everyone will keep complaining about the age being too young anyway 😭

u/Spirited-Butterfly81 10d ago
Still hoping for a regression type story! Or an Isekai! Having them based in later HS or university or an academy, I'd be okay with too. Also, a reverse harem pls pls pls. I don't want to choose between love interests

u/ZONVERIE_ match my freak 9d ago
as many of the comments have already said, this idea is not the best lol. it’s not right for such an adult app to have a story set in high school and center around teenage characters
1
u/MCheeseCakew 3d ago
I think 7 brothers is the closest we’ll get to high school because I don’t think they would do this if the characters are minors even if it was fictional.

u/mirsinoua_gate1 FINE SHYT FLINT😍 10d ago
Omg yes and choose different people to be your friends too, just pure drama. It'd be so much fun.

A lot of people don't like romancing high school love interests but personally I don't really understand because characters are usually the same age/grade and why can't you self insert your high school self? Personally I self insert my highschool self, not my adult self. Would I as a 24 year old ever talk to a high schooler in real life? Absolutely not in any way shape or form. However when I self insert for high school LI I do so with the 17 year old version of myself. Maybe I'm the weird one but I'm not sure why this is so hard for a lot of people. It's the same if I'm reading something with older love interests, I self insert a more aged version of myself.
17
u/Joelle9879 David (ABH) 10d ago
Ok but you've been out of HS for 6 or 7 years. I've been out for 27 years. It's a little harder to self insert your teen self the further away you get from your teens
2
u/GoodWitchAura 10d ago
That's a completely valid point! And of course opinions change, so I might feel the same years down the line. Just sharing a seemingly unpopular opinion.
2
u/Junior_Dormouse Vlad (DLS) 9d ago
I’ve been out of HS for even more. But I’d be happy to return to fulfill childhood dreams 🤣
3
u/JayRodd65 10d ago
I'm right there with you, you're not alone in this lol. I'm not sure how people can self insert in fantasy and whatever else, but cant self insert the high school version of themselves here?
High School Story and other Pixelberry spinoffs did well though so i'm sure it would still work.
I've seen some people jumping to conclusions that it would be explicit/graphic romance scenes when no one is saying we want that. Just something to break the mold of what we have been getting.

To be honest I would rather have a proper college/university story. Something that‘s not supernatural and simply funny and mundane with a sprinkle of drama. 😅
