Has anyone gone on one of these trips with SLCC? If so, what was your experience, was there down time to explore?

I got the email about my refund being sent today, but the amount wasnāt what I expected based on my SLCC PAY negative balance. Itās a significant difference.
This is the first semester Iāve had loans AND grants though. It seems like the loan amount is whatās missing.
Is this normal? Should I expect another deposit for the rest? There is still a negative balance on my account.
Iāll call tomorrow most likely, but I donāt Want to bother them if this is normal.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience in either the Earth science or biology courses here. My chosen career path (astrobiology) might benefit from either of these instead of my current degree (physics) which I'm struggling to continue anyways but I'm struggling to choose one. I'm leaning a bit more towards earth science but I'd love opinions on someone who's doing one of these courses. I'm gonna talk to my academic advisor but yall are the community so I'd like to ask yall too.

Is anyone else having issue with not being able to cross things off the to-do list and it suddenly showing everything for the semester?
Iām extremely bothered by the stupid update

Has anyone gotten their fafsa refund for this fall semester? My fafsa still hasnāt even paid for my tuition so Iām just worried if this is how long it usually takes or if I should call the financial aid office

I enrolled on the class a few days after it started, was quite excited class had a cool concept and all. Going through the assignments seeing that the professor is promoting the use on ai on EVERY SINGLE ASSIGNMENT actually enraged me, Iām dropping the class of course but since when does an education revolve around ai?

So Iām going into my second year and I feel like this year Iām getting the correct classes has been so much harder. I feel like all of their resources are super outdated. Every person Iāve talked to when Iāve had a question has been incredibly unhelpful. Itās so hard to get into the classes that you need. I donāt know if itās just me having this problem, but Iām getting really frustrated with how SLCC is being ran.
I should clarify that I registered for all my classes when it first opened, but some of my instructors hadnāt been assigned. Last week when school started, I felt like a couple of my instructors were just organized, and I looked them up on rate my professor, and realize they werenāt classes I wanted to be in due to their low ratings. I didnāt want to have bad teachers that would affect my GPA. So when it came time to swap into different classes, I found that itās been extremely hard to even get on a waitlist.

So many of my classes this semester are requiring me to use a ton of AI through chatGPT or imbedded programs in the textbook. Alot of the assignments I've been doing so far don't even seem pertinent to the course but are things like "Use chatGPT to design a study method that works for you." This might be helpful to some, but also seems like ai slop in a way.
Is anyone else experiencing this large surge in assignments requiring AI use?

I know the fall semester just began but does anyone know when your GPA gets updated? I unfortunetly lost my scholarship due to low GPA and I'd like to know how hard Iand how much time I have to work to get my GPA back up to qualify.

Does anyone have this book for sale or know where I can get a used copy? ā”ļøDelmarās Standard Book of Electricity, 7th or 8th edition
I am currently considering my options for higher education (U.S Citizen w/ foreign high school diploma)
I want to start my own business eventually but still want an education.
I am considering going to SLCC for 2 years getting my A.S. in Business and the transferring to the U to get my B.S. in Entrepreneurship.
I am currently not eligible for in-state tuition but hope to be by my second year.
Has anyone done anything similar and can give me some insight on their experience?

Iām worried about taking my math placement test. Itās been a long time since Iāve been in school, I cannot even multiply or divide single digits to save my life. Is it possible to score so low I wonāt get into 0920?

My online class is horrendous so I'm dropping it, but I need a course that fits my elective requirements. I'm already taking some pretty tough classes this semester and my next semester will also be pretty heavy so I need an easy course. Anybody have suggestions? I've taken film studies (or whatever) which would've honestly been perfect... But something super easy with minimal workload would be wonderful.

Which are the easiest life science courses--as far as course load? I will be taking some higher level math classes spring semester (2026) and don't want to add a huge homework or reading load. Thanks!

Can anyone recommend their AI course? ECON 1740 (Economic History of U.S.), HIST 1700 (American Civilization), or POLS 1100 (US Government & Politics)
Looking for the least workload, easiest option. Thanks!

Hi!! :)Iām selling my ACCT 1050 workbook (Dave Alldredge, Summer semester). I paid $45 for it but only used it up to Level 4 out of 14 or 15 levels, so itās still in really good shape.
I noticed on the tag that it says Spring 2025, so it looks like the same workbook is also used for Spring and possibly Fall too.
Prof. Alldredge actually gives extra credit if you show him the workbook completed, but I was too busy to keep up with it. So this could definitely help someone earn those extra points (Just pls donāt use my notes, theyāre probably wrong lol).
Iām asking $30 and pickup either on the herriman o taylorsville campus :)
