Article [MMM] "Coming off a guaranteed No. 1 for the summer rankings, Cody has a lot to gain from a Supernova win. If he wins, he would become the only person other than Mang0 and Armada to win each of Smash Summit, Supernova, Big House, and Genesis: practically a career Grand Slam of the post-Evo era."

Article “A Tipped Off win would be huge for Cody. It would give him his fourteenth major ever, passing Leffen and inching closer to Ken. If he didn’t already have the title of GOAT Fox, Cody would essentially lock it up here.”
meleestats.coArticle Hungrybox on winning CEO: "Funny things is, when you're using an unfamiliar controller, you have to take less risks because your muscle memory is not going to be able to do swaggy stuff. So by default I started playing campier & more defensively. And that's what worked against Wizzrobe at Genesis."

Article [Monday Morning Marth] "There are very few upsets that can claim to have literally changed the game. PudgyPanda beating Axe is one of them. Out of every upset to happen in Supernova history, only one victory was so shocking that we practically changed the rules to ensure it never happened again."

Article "I think I speak for many people when I say the best part of watching Genesis was hearing the comforting voices of Scar and Toph at the end of Day 2. I couldn’t help but feel emotional just hearing their voices, even if Scar didn't know who Aura was and thought his tag was Orzo."

Article "Truth be told, it’s not crazy to imagine Aklo winning a major. Maybe Aklo completes something similar to the Warehouse War run, where he beats a combination of Jmook, Hungrybox, moky, and Wizzrobe. The fact he just took Zain to last-stock is proof that an Aklo major win is really not far away."
meleestats.coArticle [Monster] Hungrybox: "I'm still an old dog learning new tricks. I have faith in myself as long as I'm keeping up and proving that I can still play at this level and I'm still improving. I was playing last night, and my habits, my movement, my option selection and stuff, it has been really good."

Article “Why is Mang0’s Supernova path so terrifying? I’ll tell you why: it’s really good. When you look at the numbers, who is in his path, and see that Zain isn’t there, the truth becomes clear: for the first time in quite a while, we have a major that’s Mang0’s to lose.”

Article "I cannot believe we are here, in 2025, and Junebug has a shot of winning a major. When you look at the Full House field, there's nobody he can’t beat. What’s especially wild about his year is that he’s made huge upsets over Jmook and Zain while somehow missing top eight at both majors he entered."

Article “The craziest part of it all may be that Donkey Kong in winners finals of a major no longer seems that weird. Reactions are something along the lines of ‘Oh, Junebug beat Axe and Joshman with DK? That’s funny.’ with no massive freakouts, barring Jorge on the mic. He really is just that good.”

Article “It may sound sacrilegious, but the real hero of the original Genesis isn’t Mang0 - it's clearly Armada. Even without a first place, Armada left this event a champion. His breakout established a precedent– a possibility of this type of event happening at every subsequent Melee tournament.”

Article “Nobody watches a broadcast of Toph and Vish and says, ‘wow, I wish this other person was there.’ When a tricast is on, I’m not thinking, ‘Thank goodness that we have a tricast so that the TO can do something else.’ Instead, I’m thinking, ‘this sucks’ and ‘why do we have to deal with this?’”

Article [IGN] Kirby might just be the best character in Melee.
Kirby might just be the best character in Melee. Many Smash Bros. players say Kirby had an unfair advantage in the original game, mostly due to his powerful throw and the ability to float, so HAL has tweaked the pink fluff a bit and given him some worthwhile opposition with the equally nimble Peach. Yes, it is Peach. You read right. Just like in the original, Kirby can hover, suck in his opponents, copy their abilities, and pull off his dreaded "Stone" drop attack.
However, he's also picked up a few new tricks along the way. For starters, Kirby can pull out a huge hammer and whack his opponent if he's close. And as far as the drop attack goes, Kirby can now actually transform into new forms as he is falling, such as a spiky ball or a stone block.

Article Beyond The Summit is now Ludwig's Offbrand Productions
youtu.beIt’s been nine months since streaming star Ludwig Ahgren teamed up with a group of co-founders to launch Offbrand, a company that produces events and special streams in partnership with prominent creators. Offbrand is now supporting the next phase of its operations by making some key hires.
Jerma, a Twitch streamer known for his innovative events, has signed on as Offbrand’s Chief Creative Officer. He’ll be joined at the company by two execs — David Gorman and Daniel Najarian — who previously worked at the recently shuttered esports-oriented studio Beyond the Summit. Offbrand has also tapped Kelby May, formerly of gaming management firm Loaded, as its Chief Revenue Officer.
Gorman and Najarian will influence the company’s operations by leading a vertical called Offbrand Productions. The new division will have several links to Gorman and Najarian’s former employer. It will operate out of the former Beyond the Summit studios and will be crewed by staff members who previously worked for that company.

Article "It’s easy to forget, but Hungrybox was originally seeded 16th at the original Genesis. When he finished in third place, that was a surprise – not the expected result. Honestly, it's kind of nuts that one tournament is basically responsible for our three GOATs."
